The Druid Animal Oracle by Philip and Stephanie Carr

The book, card, and divinatory cloth set are packaged in a cardboard box with a wrap-around sleeve. I find this to be superior to the side-entry boxes, which decks seem to vault from at will. Once the cloth has been unfolded, it is difficult to fit all three components back into the packaging. I keep my book separate, as I have found it a useful reference for writing projects and tealeaf divination.

The Swan is shown opening her wings in preparation for flight, while her mate serenely drifts with the current, waiting to accompany her. The Swan is identified as Yewberry from the Irish story, the Dream of Oenghus, wherein a woman shape shifts into a swan wearing a golden necklace. The image of the Swan adorned with gold feels almost natural. Mirroring the mythologies of each animal with the picture on the card occasionally results in the addition of symbols that seem forced into the setting. As the Bear emerges from her cave, she places one paw on a gilded mace similar to those unearthed by archaeologists near Stonehenge. A crown meant to symbolize the kingship of Arthur lies abandoned in the snow outside her rock-formed den. If I werent aware that bears rarely attack humans without provocation, I would have thought she had just eaten Arthur and looted his royal treasures.

Although Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm include reversed meanings for both the animal and dragon cards, I feel the text is so replete with imagery that the cautionary or challenging aspects are often included in the Druidic mythology and Celtic folklore. An experienced, intuitive reader may not need to utilize the reversed meanings. A student new to divination would be more likely to find the reverse meanings helpful with analysis. Because the cards contain threefold interpretation, I would recommend a thorough exploration of the text before attempting any of the layouts. A table in the back of the book shows interrelating pairs of animals along with shared gifts, qualities and abilities.

The oversize cards measure approximately 4x 6. Although the cards are slightly more challenging to work with than a traditional-sized deck, the enlarged images create a beautiful accompaniment to an altar or meditation space. The Druid Animal Oracle is one of the few decks I use for all areas of my spiritual practice: professional readings, personal readings, and meditation.

the backs of the cards. I wish some of the design from the borders showing ancient elemental symbols and the leaves, flowers and berries of Celtic trees would have been expanded upon. There is no dearth of Celtic knotwork to represent the Wheel of Life that could have inspired a beautifully intricate circle that would have made shuffling more pleasurable.

The artist manages to create four distinct dragons that personify each element in nature. The Earth Dragon is a coil of brown scales tucked into a small cave rich with gilt handled swords, gold torcs, and crests. Images of the four dragons are printed in silver in the corners of a blue divination cloth included with the book and card set.

Although personal study in Celtic mythology and animal lore is useful in lending a greater connection with the cards, I feel that Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomms book is a wonderful initiation to the Druidic path. The 176-page illustrated text contains a brief philosophical explanation of Celtic shamanism, the power of inner animals and totems, a listing of the English and Gaelic names of the Celtic animals and dragons, along with a pronunciation guide and sample readings. The animals are chronicled in order of their appearance in Druidic mythology. Although the placement of the animals in the text provides for a flowing, preliminary read, it creates difficulties in referencing information. An alphabetical index is located on the inside of the back cover. I wish it had been positioned towards the front of the book.

The Druid Animal Oracle by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm is a 33-card non-tarot deck composed of twenty-nine Celtic animals and four elemental dragons to embody the characteristics of water, earth, air and fire. Three blank cards are included so readers can add images of personal totem animals not already represented.

The book offers six layouts: The Triune Spread, The Awen Spread, The Spread of the Elements, The Spirits of the Circle Spread, The Hearth Spread, and The Arianrhod Spread. I most often work with The Spread of the Elements for both personal and professional readings. This layout uses five cards to represent the Self within the center of the four directions: East; intellectual, South; sensual, West; emotional, and North; intuitive. I have found The Spread of the Elements to be useful in helping clients to find greater unity of purpose and an elevated sense of well-being.

Worthington painted the animals on a larger scale than the background images. This technique reminds me of religious paintings wherein a deity is pictured in a grander size to illustrate the importance placed on his presence. The detail of the Blackbirds glossy feathers leading to his yellow beak gives him a tender expression that may not be considered when viewing a bird among the branches of a rowan tree. Although I have the bee as a totem animal, Worthingtons Bee gave me pause. The alteration of traditional perspective made the Bee larger in scale than the royal court of Tara. Looking into the card made me feel that I was trapped in an early 1960s Sci-Fi movie where giant insects descend from the heavens to reap destruction on planet Earth. I wish he had chosen to paint a bustling hive instead.

The backs of the cards depict three rays and three circles in silver on a dark blue background to convey the light of Awen, or flowing spirit. As the cards are reversible, the image is mirrored to create a picture that I first believed to be a modern interpretation of a sheaf of wheat. The cards are so abundant with symbolism; it is possible to find meanings that are not intended. Worthingtons great skill as a painter was not fully utilized on

I would recommend The Druid Animal Oracle to anyone who is interested in Celtic studies or feels drawn to the totemic power of animals. As respected teachers within the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm forged a scholarly, yet accessible, approach to the text. The art of Bill Worthington offers an emotive and inspiring view of animals within nature. More information on both the authors and the artist can be obtainedhere.

The watercolor paintings by Bill Worthington contain active representations of animals from the Celtic pantheon. The Cat with her arched spine and standing fur seems positioned for defense. With her claws outstretched and her fangs displayed, the resonance of the feline hiss practically sounds from the card. Among her mountain habitat of grey rocks and trees rooted within the sloping landscape, the Cat is depicted aside her native plants: pink flowering cats foot, hill-cats glove and cats tail. Linking each animal to herbal lore is thematic of the deck. Although the plants represented are native to Celtic regions, the inclusion of herbs in relation to their respective animal can provide a deeper understanding of interconnectedness within nature for both novice and experienced herbalists. I do wish the text offered more information on the herbs pictured along with the Latin names.

The Cow stands before a placid lake with one hoof raised. It feels as if she is about to step closer. The long coat of the highland cow seems welcoming to touch. A single drop of milk falls from her udder as a characteristic of her nourishing qualities. The book shows the Cow as a patron of the Goddess Brighid, who was fed the nutriment of an Otherworldly cow. A charming Scottish story of fairy cows that dwell beneath the sea exemplifies the dedication of the authors to create a multi-layered text rich in Celtic folk tradition and Druidic mythological history.

As early as 1894 Frederick J. Drake & Co. of Chicago, Illinois began publishing an expanded 52-card version of the Lenormand cards calledMlle. Le Normands Gypsy Witches Fortune Telling Cards. It was based on a 48-card deck from Danner G. Mhlhausen, Berlin that in 1875 had added twelve extra illustrations to the original deck (plus incorporated an alchemical-looking script in place of the playing card insets) see later Adolf Engel edition (1880?) here. Thedeck switched all the playing card associations around, increased the cards to 52 and included a Joker card. By 1903 it was being published by Home Game Co., and later by the United States Playing Card Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Today, as theGypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards,

They were printed by theValmor Companyof Chicago (also doing business as King Novelty. United Novelty were distributors) and so are sometimes called theThis hints at an interesting crossover between the immigrant community of Jewish founder Morton Neumann (the Polish connection?) and the African-American hoodoo tradition. Could African-American artist, Charles Dawson, who did Valmor ads, have been the artist of these cards? Seepost using this deck by Camelia Elias.

Try this with your favorite divination deck and let us know, in the comments, how it works for you.

This version is essentially a Lenormand with twelve cards that vary from the standardsome a mere substitution of a different image and others, entirely new but drawn out of the Mlhausen/Drake selection. Several of the non-standard cards appear in the two previous alternative decks. This deck features an emphasis on love and marriage. There have been three different artistic renditions of the Whitman deck, all designed in the style of childrens book illustrations. There are no playing card associations.

This deck is found fairly often on eBay. It is a simple red & black version of theBerlin deck of 1854 and the same as the b&w(see above). Notice that the Ship is quite different, while the other cards are identical. Theres some indication that publishers would substitute their own countrys ships and flag. Although I cant see enough detail on most of the flags, this one does appear to be an American flag. This edition is instantly recognizable because the black playing card suits have red pictures and the red suits have black pictures. The Queens are the only cards with no suit markers (due to the confusion that arose with the McLoughlin deck?). Several of the outer boxes have a blank space following the words Published by which suggests that Wehman Bros of New York may have merely been a distributor for decks printed elsewhere. The instructions are printed in both English and German. This small deck measures 2-1/8 x 3.

This 36-card deck probably originated in GermanyseeDas Echte Wahrsagespielfrom approximately 1925-30, featuring identical pictures but with fake alchemical-kabbalistic script in the yellow insets instead of the numbers and titles. This, in turn, was a variation of the Mhlhausen/Engel (Berlin) 48-card deck of 1875/80.

In 1724 eighteen-year-old Benjamin Franklin and his good friend, James Ralph, travel to London, ostensibly to buy printing equipment for Franklins first print shop, but instead they hang out at coffee houses, attend the theatre and other entertainments, and read voraciously, with Ralph living off an almost destitute Franklin. Franklin returns to Philadelphia eighteen months later. Remaining in England, Ralph attempts to become a man of letters, turning his hand to poetry, plays, and social commentary, writingThe Taste of the Town: or a Guide to all Publick Diversions, by A. PrimcockSince theatres are rowdy places where one goes mostly to chat, intrigue, eat and drink (and tell fortunes?) Ralph advocates the pleasures of low theatre, farce, and tales of British folk heroes instead of the lofty classics. He meets the young Henry Fielding, who is just starting his writing career (Fielding is credited with writing some of the first English novels includingand creating the first municipal police force, the Bow Street Runners).

Old Gypsy Cards Fortune Telling Gamefrom Addison Products Co, Chicago (no-date 1940s?), also with instructions in English and Polish. Looking similar to the, and with elements appearing in Whitmans deck (see below), this deck has its own unique assignation of playing cards (the suits & numbers appear in sequence in the numbering of the cards), which accord most closely with the usual French & English playing card meanings. While most of the deck includes Lenormand-like cards there are also unique ones like 21-The Fairy and 27-The Bacchanalian. Cards like 30-The Eye are found in other gypsy cards mentioned here. In 1948 this same deck was published by Wehman Bros. but without the text.

The first edition, mentioned in the Uniform Trade List of July 1867 asMadam Morrows Fortune Telling Cards, was an exact replica of the German Kunst-Comptoir, Berlin deck of 1854. (They were also published by McLoughlin asMadam Le Normands Mystic Cards of Fortunein a simple b&w printing see Wehman Bros deck below.) In 1886 a new edition was copyrighted a beautifully etched masterpiece (large cards above)! Note that the Court Cards have been redone to match those found in contemporary playing card decks. An oddity of this deck, which influenced a few other decks, is that three of the Queens are switched from their normal Lenormand card placements. Crossroads should be the Queen of Diamonds (originally Bells) instead of Spades, while

My copy came without a box or book, so the closest Ive come to identifying it is via a deck that sold from the Fitzgerald Publishing Corporation edition, which makes it 1916 or later. The Dick & Fitzgerald Publishing Co was originally founded in 1858 on Anne St. and they did publish playing card decks. Upon the death of the founders son in 1816, the Fitzgerald Publishing Corporation at 18 Vesey St. came into being, known mainly for editions of theatrical plays and music. Whether this deck was a carry-over from the earlier company or not will not be known until an earlier box is found. The style is a near exact replica of one of the earliest Lenormand decks: black & white cards from Kunst-Comptoir in Berlin, Germany in 1854 (see the early Madam Morrow deck). This particular deck is notable not only for the fine coloring of the scenes but also for the lovely pink and blue sky. The deck is a standard poker size.

Box for unknown deck (picture on the left). Is this another Lenormand deck? It says the instructions are in German and English and there are 36 cards. It was published in New York. Does anyone have any further information?

This is my earliest American deck. While the box cover is in French, the booklet is in German (my copy is without these), and it was published in New York, for the immigrant community. Charles Magnus (1826-1900) was a print publisher, map dealer, bookseller and stationer working in New York City from 1850 to 1899, having arrived from Germany around 1848. He is especially known for his maps of Civil War battlefields. The deck is on matt cardboard. It was printed in black or red (depending on the card suit) and then colored by stencil in red, blue and yellow with green being a combination of yellow and blue. The size is 1-5/8 x 2-7/8 (4.1 cm x 7.3 cm) a little taller than todays mini decks. (A much later German deck of the same style appears at theLenormand Museumonline.)

We now know that theLenormand(also known as thePetit Lenormand) cards had nothing to do with the famous French fortune-teller, Mlle. Lenormand, merely co-opting her name. The date of their inception has been pushed back to the late 18th century with the multi-purpose Game of Hope from Nuremburg and similar Coffee-Cards from Vienna.

Later in 1730, the same theatre presents a short, anonymous play,Jack the Giant-Killer: A Comi-Tragical Farce. It is a striking parody of James Ralphs theatrical theories and Fieldings comedy featuring the poet Plotless and the hero, Jack. This parody could have been written by Fielding and Ralph themselves as a spoof of their own theatrical endeavors. Or it could have been written by a rival playwright who hoped to make a laughing stock of the two of them. In the play, the Giants tell Queen Folly (who has usurped Reason) in a self-congratulatory way,

All of these decks are on matt card-stock thats easily torn or bent, rather than the glossy-finished flexible and quality stock found on many 19th century European decks. Compared to the fine artistry and the best in chromo-lithography of the European decks, these American decks seem like poor cousins, but I find them to be outstanding examples of a folk-tradition. They add much to an overlooked aspect of immigrant and everyday life here in America.

Here is the little-known American branch of the family. Anyone with an early American edition not included here, please contact me with a photo and as much information as you have so we can add to the list.

Since the 175-year-old German divination deck known as thePetit Lenormandburst onto the English-language scene about five years ago, nearly a hundred new, published decks have appeared and a half-a-dozen books and ebooks. [And by 2018 its become a divination staple.] Even thoughUSGames has published a German Blue Owl Lenormand deck for nearly fifty years, Lenormand has remained an oddity, superseded by a similar, though more negative, Gypsy Witch deck, with 52 instead of 36 cards, that quickly came to dominate the American cartomancy scene.

While these cards look quite different than the Lenormand decks we are used to, they are actually exact matches to the standard deck. Dr. Jayne and Son was a patent medicine company that existed from 1843 to 1930. They used almanacs, trading cards, recipe books, a dream & fortune telling book, striking graphics and this deck to promote their medicines, primarily to families, many of whom were functionally illiterate. The vulture (Mice) card probably darkened from being exposed to the sun. The back of the cards and the box have the same design. There is an error in my deck where the Ship should have been the 10 of Spades, the card mistakenly shows the 8 of Clubs. Interestingly the Jack of Hearts card should have a red playing card and black emblem, but as the emblem is a heart the colors are reversed so the heart can be red. They are roughly poker size.

Old Gypsy Cards Fortune Telling Gamefrom Addison Products Co, Chicago (no-date 1940s?) is an identical deck, also with instructions in English and Polish. Looking similar to the, and with elements appearing in Whitmans Old Gypsy deck, this deck has its own assignation of playing cards such that the suits & numbers appear in sequence according to the numbering of the cards, and they accord most closely with the usual French and English playing card meanings. While most of the deck includes Lenormand-like cards there are also unique ones like 23-A Beautiful Lady, 27-The Bacchanalian, 29-The Loving Couple, 31-The Fairy, 32-The Shepherd, 11-The Dancing Persons. Cards like 20-the Horseshoe, 30-The Eye and 35-The Duel are found in other gypsy decks that I talk about. In 1948 this same deck was published by Wehman Bros. but without the text.

(1880s-1902) published this chromolithography deck on heavy cardstock with childrens-book-like illustrations under at least two names (see above). Singer also published a planchette game and a miniature theatre. While the 36 cards are all standard Lenormand, they feature non-standard numbers, and many of the playing card correspondences have changed. The instruction sheet gives very brief keyword meanings, some of which are different than usual:

Two years after Morton Neumann started Valmor he married Rose and thenthe whole approach to Valmor advertising changed radically. The company became known for its illustrations featuring fair-skinned, black-haired beauties in seductive, sexy scenes. The original advertisment illustrator was African-American artist, Charles Dawson. Could he have been the artist of this deck?

This is a very rare, unusual 36-card deck. Eighteen cards are the same or very similar to Lenormand cards, although in a different numerical order, and 22 cards share some (if not exact) similarities with the Old Gypsy FT Cards just above. The other cards share similarities with other cartomancy decks, like the Eye, Cat, Coins (bags of money) and Cornucopeia, but this deck also features unusual cards like the Stairs, the Horse, the Bee, the Ivy, and the Candle. Theres no instruction sheet as all the meanings and most significant combinations are printed on the cards.

    Mlle. Lenormands LOracle and Appendix

When I began collecting Lenormand decks I soon discovered that in the 19th and early 20th centuries they were far more common in the United States than I had imagined. It appears that German-American immigrant communities, centered mostly in New York and Chicago, published a continuous stream of decks, from different publishers, to meet local demand. The majority of these decks contained the original, 1846 Philippe instruction sheet, unchanged, in both German and in English-translation. This was of particular interest to me as my German-American great-grandmother was known to have the sight and read cards for visitors in her New Orleans kitchen. I like to think she would have known the Lenormand deck.

What does he (or she) think (or feel) about me? In the whole field of card divination this is one of the most asked questions online and one of my least favorite. In my experience people are a hotbed of conflicting thoughts and feelings that change from moment to moment and circumstance to circumstance. To say nothing of ones head and heart giving us different messages! You think of your sweetie with longing as you anticipate going out with him that evening, then he calls to say hell be watching a game with his buddies instead. Suddenly you think hes a scumbag and plan how you wont be available when he wants some. Meanwhile, youre facing an evening at home alone. Or, he hasnt called in a weeknot since . . . Or, I want to ask her out, but am unsure if she sees me as anything other than an annoying co-worker.

Twas we who snatchd you from Obscurity, and to the grinning World disclosd your Charms. . . . We vow ourselves your ever grateful champions. . . . Folly for ever, say we all.

This deck was quite a find. It contains the same 36 figures that are found in a standard Lenormand deck but the Queens are switched around yet again! Snake is the Queen of Spades (rather than the Queen of Clubs). The drawings are original to this deck and include the unusual device of a curtain being pulled back by a winged child to reveal the pictorial scene. Self-explaining verses in furled banners in both German and English give the meanings on each card. The minimalistic instruction sheet is also in German and English, telling one to lay the cards in four rows of nine cards with the Significator always in the center of the top row. The card backs feature an advertisement for John Miles Wholesale Millinery Goods, which suggests that a printer offered them as promotional products to their business customers. The cards are a little taller than usual, measuring 2-3/8 x 3-5/8. The back of the box has this interesting explanation for the deck:

What is of most interest to us is that when Jack arrives to champion Reason and defeat the royal Sorceress Folly, Folly declares that before setting off to battle,

from United Novelty, Mfc Company, Chicago, circa 1920-30 are a 36-card deck with playing cards inset and meanings given on each card. The instructions are in Polish and English and the Lady (significator) is clearly dressed as a 1920s flapper. At least 22 of the 36 cards are close cognates with the Lenormand cards. A few of the other card images are found on other cartomancy decks of the period. See thispost in which Camelia Elias demonstrates using the deck.

Its interesting that Morton and Rose Neumann, by the mid-20th century, began investing their wealth in 19th century European art and later in American art, amassing what is considered today to be the foremost and most valuable private family art collection in America. They tried to keep it intact until the death of Rose and son, Hubert, whenan inheritance tax of $50 million forced the sale of several works.

So here, in 1730, we have the first mention of fortune telling with playing cards along with a description of the method and meaning of a reading, plus in the same sentence we find tas搜索引擎优化mancy, which would later be linked with the meanings of Lenormand cards.

I was unable to find this particular deck in a King Novelty (Valmor) catalog but I did come across their 1944 catalog ad for a nearly identical deck calledMadame Sigma Fortune Telling Cards. You could purchase both the deck and book together for $1.35!

  • Excellent Online Oracles

The I-Ching has influenced great thinkers such as Confucius, Liebniz (who invented binary mathematics after studying the binary qualities of the I-Ching), Albert Einstein, and von Neumann (who invented digital computers after contemplating the I-Chings many possible permutations).

The Tarot has long been recognized as an excellent tool for determining what is really happening in ones life, and what kind of events are likely to unfold if things continue the way they are going. Tarot reader Alison Day has a beautifulLotus Tarotweb site that provides fast and easy-to-understand Tarot readings that contain beautiful images along with interpretations of what the cards mean in your particular reading. I especially love the underlying philosophy of this web site, which is so eloquently expressed by Alison Day:

A responsibility comes with the Tarot and the practice of Tarot reading must be treated with respect and humility. The majority of people consult the cards in a time of confusion or distress hence the need to deal with people and their feelings responsibly.

This oracle is very poetic, as can be seen by this sample passage I received when recently asking a question:

One of the reasons I enjoy the I-Ching so much is because I love the way one answer changes into another, showing a flow from an immediate set of circumstances into a more distant situation.

The I-Ching is also known as the Book of Changes, and is widely regarded as being the worlds oldest known book at over 3500 years of age. It was popularized in the West by the founder of depth psychology, Carl Jung, who studied its synchronicity principle for some 30 years.

Spring is approaching. Good times ahead seems inevitable; there is vitality in the air. This is a most auspicious time. Like a snake emerging from hibernation, negative forces are only just beginning to stir, and can be effectively controlled. This is a time of hopeful progress, and must be used to best advantage. When approaching good fortune, conscientious work pays great dividends. A clear road lies ahead.

Click six times to throw six coins over a tranquil pool, and receive poetic words and a beautiful painting in response to your query. ThisOracle of Changes I-Chingwas developed by Visionary Networks, and has been said to provide the Internets only mathematically authentic (truly randomized) casting of an I-Ching reading.

The Synchronic Book is connected to an ancient Magic book, and every time you consult the Synchronic, you actually consult the original Book. The Synchronic Book itself is an organism composed of various organs and cells; chapters and single phrases. The Synchronic never gives firm answers, but indicative ones. Personal reflection and meditation is required on the response. Such introspection is assisted by the ritual process – which is not just a simple way of releasing attention from the tumultuous and mechanical flow of daily thought, but a way of immersing yourself in the deep river of Being, which is continuously nourished by all events. We recommend that you do not use the Synchronic Book for trivial or unimportant questions. The consultation of the Synchronic demands profound interests and attitudes.

But what about those days when we need an answer FAST? Some days get so frantic that it seems there is simply no time to meditate, let alone utilize our own divination tools.

So what kind of tools are required for divination? Chances are, everything you can name has at some time been used by someone as a divination tool. This includes pendulums, stones, smoke, clouds, tortoise shells, flower petals, trees, sticks, waves, and weather. Spirit is in everything, everywhere… and can talk to us when we quiet ourselves enough to listen.

I found this delightful oracle quite by chance one day, when reading the articles written by Lynn Woodland. Lynn has a beautiful web site, and one of the highlights is definitely herOdyssey of Life Oracle. This Oracle is intended to be used a serious tool for personal and spiritual growth, and contains approximately 80 different messages of guidance which synchronistically appear in response to your particular concern. The answers you get here in response to your query may be anything from suggestions of helpful actions, affirmations, exercises, or ways to expand your perspective.

I find it fascinating how most people have favorite divination tools — whether or not we formally acknowledge them as such. Even people who dont realize that theyre using divination tools consult stock market reports, chats with best friends, and newspaper horoscopes every day. Some people are very mindful of the interplay between spirit and their conscious mind, and are quite proficient at casting their own horoscopes, throwing their own I-Ching sticks or coins, or reading runes or Tarot cards whenever they feel a need for guidance.

If I was asked what do I hope to provide for each of my clients, I would answer clarity of mind and boldness of heart. For most of us it is our fear that causes the most distress, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of loneliness and so on; the Tarot can bring comfort and reassurance.

I believe Tarot is an ancient form of counselling rather than fortune telling. For me a reading captures the essence of the moment as experienced by the client, picking up on influences or lessons from their past and showing possibilities for the future.

Oberto Airaudi, creator of this online divination system explains:

The art of divination can be traced back as far as human history — and its strongly suspected that it existed long before the time when written records first began. The underlying idea behind divination is that answers to all of our questions are always available to us through spirit… the unconscious… our higher selves. All we have to do is ask the right questions, and the universe will reply. Divination is a process of utilizing something to obtain this knowledge which is hidden around us in plain sight. This knowledge can be shared synchronistically, when events that have no clear cause and effect relationship can nevertheless coincidentally have a profoundly meaningful connection.

The Damanhur Synchronic Bookis a divination system like nothing I have ever encountered. This system is similar to the others mentioned above in the sense that the questioner is expected to have a serious query in mind, and will receive better information based on the attainment of a contemplative state. What is different about this divination tool is that it requires one to repeat a phrase of conscious intention three times, and to cast a die four times in order to receive an answer.

The Oracle works most powerfully when you hold a serious intention to receive the highest possible guidance. The power of your intent and the sincerity of your request for guidance are what activate synchronicity, drawing to you the most appropriate message. Therefore, the more you bring to the experience, the more you will receive.

Youll be glad to know there are some excellent divination tools on the internet, ready and waiting for you. In this article, I take a look at four of my personal favorites:The Lotus Tarot,The Odyssey of Life Oracle,Oracle of Changes I-Ching, andThe Damanhur Synchronic Book.

Anyone tried stun_display_buff for stun aura?

i might have done something wrong though, its a good while ago

If you have mana reserved, then you need to adjust this so that it is less than your reserved percentage otherwise the bot will keep using your Mana Flask:

I have updated my post explaining step by step how to setup FlaskHelper with a new section on how to ADD NEW FLASKS – no pictures at the moment – but hopefully you guys can read and follow ok. Post is here for reference:

do you just unzip it to 3rd party folder? I get a bunch of are you missing an assembly? errors and it wont load.

If you only want to use this when you get value from it – we check there are no mobs within 70f and hit it:

You will also want some health or Energy shield protection:

Well it should, the fullname includes name… lol

So if I want to use Kiaras Determination, which cures stun, there isnt a FH.IsStunned I think right?

Now when your health goes below 80% the bot uses your life flask.

Defensive flasks we want to increase the range a bit because of those annoying jumping things and other fast moving mobs.

None matched the settings in the json:

IGNOREthe box with Selector and a line of code in it – weDONTwant to touch that or things will go crazy and you will die! (this line of code is simply the bots way of identifying the flask)

Am I not seeing all the auras correctly – or did they change the aura name to unique_flask_divination_distillate? The reason i ask is that the bot is spamming the Div Dist sometimes even when it is still refilling. Ah – is it the legacy version vs the temp league version name?

Well it should, the fullname includes name… lol

So I ran a quick aura check with pretty much all my flasks in use – Dying Sun, Zerphis Last Breath, Divination Distillate

I find divination distillate pretty hard to use, the aura stops when your health or mana hits full. So if you have a low mana pool a lot of times itll just spam to no effect if the mob dies fast. Does a bit better vs uniques though.

Essentially telling the bot to use the flask if there are no mobs within 70f or if there is 1 or more mobs within 70f i.e. all the time. FlaskHelper will detect when your buff has expired and recast appropriately – awesome right!?

Next we need to tell it when to use them – so click in the table (blank space) just underneath CONDITION and paste the following:

We want our Crit boosted when there are a few mobs, or tough mobs so:

The default settings below are mainly for melee characters, for casters you would still use the same conditions, but mostly increase the distance values.

I am using 110 mana cost fireball and no mana reserved – Divination Distilate should always be active trying to keep the mana topped up. I edited the json to be unique_flask_divination_distillate and now there is no spamming – works as intended.

Pick Life Flask from the drop down.

Is all i have to do is add public static bool IsStunned = .HasAura(stunned); to FH.cs in the classes folder?

As a definitive test I ran the code for a few hours with just this setup and it never proced Kiaras once – then i added IsCursed and IsFrozenOrChilled and it proced all the time.

Rarity.Unique and then calling a base item does not work

Second image my Flasks Bismuth configuration is wrong?

Each of your flasks should have some kind of dispel e.g. Burning, Shocked, Poisoned etc – to make the bot use the dispel you should paste the relevant condition below into to the flask conditions for the flask it is on:

If you find you are always at max flask charges, then lower the 2,4 (you will spend flasks charges more quickly) if you keep running out of charges during a fight then increase them. ForVessel of Vinktaryou will also want Energy Shield Detection:

    Name: Divination Distillate,

I will update this post with more as I set them up.Click to expand…Execution Bismuth flasks

You should also add your Flaskss Dispel e.g. Removed Shock on Use

do you just unzip it to 3rd party folder? I get a bunch of are you missing an assembly? errors and it wont load.

If you have quick refills with Surgeons on Crit, then you might want to spam Quicksilver off cooldown:

Can anyone help me with this? How can I make this potion to work?

3 hours running Kiaras with just IsStunned and verbose logging on – no procs.

Granite Flask(And most other defensive flasks)

NOTE:If you are using Flask nodes to extend the length and power of your Flasks, then you can probably set all of the values below lower as your Flasks effects will last longer, giving them more time to recharge.

There is probably a way to detect stuns in the api somewhere (waaay beyond my pay grade) – but sadly it isnt as simple as this (though i did take the opportunity to add IsPoisoned and it works fine).

Alright, thanks for checking. I guess its chayula amulet or skyforth

hmm, well sorry then. last time i tried that it did not work.

    The Overflowing Chalice Sulpher Flask

WiN said:This is an amazing plugin with huge possibilities – awesome contribution from toNyx – making the bot one step closer to its true manifestation Skynet! As my very small contribution I am going to show you how to create some default flask settings.

    Aura: flask_bonus_item_rarity,

Anyone tried stun_display_buff for stun aura?

It is worth adding in an O Shit press all flasks button for low health:

Do the same for Instant Life Flask, but change 80 to 65. If you find you are still dying because you are too squishy, then up the values.

I did not realize … thank you very much.

Resistance Flasks are very dependent upon the Map level and danger level you are running – increase the mob count an the distance if you are running EZ game EZ life settings, reduce them if you are pushing higher Maps where insta-death is a regular occurrence. If you are running a CI build you want to have these up before pretty much any fight and any time that you experience the related debuff like Burning etc. I have used the mobs more than 2 setting along with the Unique and Rares – smaller distances as hopefully most stuff is dead before it gets within 8f, you should increase or decrease this depending on how much of the time you are out of Flask Charges.

    public static bool IsStunned = .HasAura(stun_display_buff);

Simply TickEnable Usage- now the bot knows you have a Life Flask.

Diamond Flask, Vessel of Vinktar(And most other offensive flasks)

So – here we go – once you have the plugin enabled lets start easy with Life Flask:

I had to completely do a fresh install of EB. Then I had to create the folders CommunityLib, AdvancedItemFilter, Flask Helper. Then extract into those folders. For some reason when I would try to extract to my 3rd party folder it either wouldnt create the necessary folders or they were not in the downloaded file… Still new to this POE botting, not quite as sleek as I remember WoW botting got before the ban waves. Anyways, cheers! Thanks for this plugin!

If you are OP, then you probably just want to spam resistance and quicksilver all the time, so this is one way you can do that:

So if your Life Flask has Removes Bleeding, then you add FH.IsBleeding as a condition to the Life Flask.

lol , atziri is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy

Doing it with 1 HP is insane o.o im not having problems with the lightning… but with the fire. the blasts… fuck.

quicksilvers are essential if you are relying on movement speed so atleast 1 is mandatory imo.

lol , atziri is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy

In split phase granites help alot since pretty much the only way you will die is by getting hit by spears (fbs+stormcalls shouldnt be too hard to dodge)

if using tornado shot you might be hitting her despite not aiming at her

what flasks you guys use while fighting Atziri? Im struggling with her and idk what can be changed…

someone posted a video of someone doing it with 1 hp, so its worth watching, practicing and trying to not get hit

I got 4.1k hp atm, lvl 86 ranger and her split phase is driving me crazy (no im not shooting the mirror atziri)

get curse immunity somewhere if you are going to curse (or just use a curse that doesnt hurt you if reflected, like capped res under ele weakness) then get movement speed on another flask or use a QS and skip a health flask.

Forgot to say, Im using puncture in her split phase, so im pretty sure I am not hitting the mirror one =p

e// sounds like you lack movement speed. Blink arrow can be quite useful for dodging the flameblasts as well. Mirror arrow helps with tanking the spears if thats a problem.

Depending on the build ofc, but I never tank flameblasts or storm calls so I use 3x life flasks, atziri flask and granite and sometimes 2x life flasks+atziri flask+2x granite. If you have a taste of hate thats most likely better than granite/life flask.

Why traps? Atm I am running puncture without it. Im having a hard time trying to avoid the blasts… the bigger one gets me most part of the time.

Im trying to find out what is best: if I use instant recovery flasks, common ones or flasks that grants more HP but takes more time to heal… what is the best?

e/ for builds with good suistainability (heavy regen/leech) and tankiness, id go with 2x rubys+taste of hate/atziri+life flasks and just tank flameblasts and dodge stormcalls.

Im missing cold dmg on my ring however.

You should have lvl 16 Diacharge and 4/4 charges by now. Rare ring with cold dmg to attacks and ele equilibrium taken from tree.

1-2 are mandatory, 3 is mandatory if you use RF (which is a nice multiplier). 4 is very strong. So if you dont need shock immunity or additional movementspeed (or Wise Oak), go ahead. Its your character.Last edited by olsev_baiden on Oct 25, 2017 2:07:32 AM

This would explain why I barely got all flasks charged up during a boss encounter. I did not know that.

I have the first 3 ascendancies done, just need uber.

If you dont have cold dmg on your gear Id highly recommend to spec out of Equilibrium until you have it. You are gimping your damage otherwise.

    – youre missing cold damage on your rare ring, its necessary to trigger elemental equilibrium correctly. Without it, you are just giving a lot of free elemental resistance to enemies.

Ill work on getting cold dmg on a ring. I have a very low amount of currency so swapping colors/links on items has been difficult right now to obtain the correct colors and links, specifically Kingsguard. I put the crit on there just as a filler because I didnt know what other blue to throw with Cyclone with the time being. Not only has currency been rough getting the proper color scheme on gear, its proved difficult getting the correct stats needed for my gem setup and gear requirements(For example, Mjolners steep stat requirement and now that I put the gloves on, it increases the stat requirements on everything significantly). So, Im fighting an uphill battle with the stats/currency right now

Yes it is basicaly a 50% more dmg. Make sure you dont have any +fire or +lightning dmg on your gear anywhere.Guides:

    – you can play without righteous fire. I dont use it yet and do tier 12-13 maps without problems

Hope it helped ! In my experience, you shouldnt die in tier 5-6 maps, only to reflect mob or maybe a very nasty rogue exile. Im having a lot of fun with this and Im nearly 90 and grinding maps to level it up

If you dont have cold dmg on your gear Id highly recommend to spec out of Equilibrium until you have it. You are gimping your damage otherwise.

I have a question, why not using divination distillate at the same time as a ruby/topaz/sapphire flask to achieve even more max elemental ? According to poe wiki, it works.

@Abrusio secound intuitive leap is a really good idea to grab that alchemist node.

    – you dont have enough endurance charges to sustain healing from kingsguard. Getting as many as possible should be a top priority with this build as it generates damage AND healing.

Ive got cold now on my ring. Hopefully this helps

    3.2 life Mjolner Inquisitor version:

To be comfortable with any dmg map mods you need 5.8 life pool. Redix lvled up to 100 and had 6.1k life at the end, but that because he did many Shaper runs with this build.

Im tempted to get Alchemist too, and if I do Im going to use a second intuitive leap jewel to get it as well as blast radius with my next points.

Than add life and endu charges as you progress.

Im missing cold dmg on my ring however.

Druidic Rite seems too far to be efficient. Any thoughts for 90+ points? Its nice that this build is finished mid 80.

Flask charges gained this way can only occur once every 200ms and gives a charge to one flask at a time

Ive got a 16 Discharge and I have 5 or more charges right now. Im missing cold dmg on my ring however.

Im tending to take Alchemist for +1 max res more as well as longer duration. Im not sure how much life with this build is needed at the end, with Starkonja as helmet Im sitting at 5k with 87 now. Usually I feel comfortable with 6k+/7k+, but you have so much Defense with this build Im not sure this is necessary.

There are people who lvled up to 100 with this buid and did all the content, Shaper included (hi redix 😉 so Bartusick youre doing definitely something wrong. I didnt have time to plug you into PoB but reading from what Abrusio wrote those are all valid points.

I just managed to acquire a Volls and currently in my Mjolner, I have Discharge+Elemental Focus+Controlled Destruction. Just ran a few T5s/6s and got my asshole pushed in. And, RF still manages to destroy my HP, even with my resistances high and my hp regen

If you dont have cold dmg on your gear Id highly recommend to spec out of Equilibrium until you have it. You are gimping your damage otherwise.

    5. Shock immunity (I use Quicksilver with additional movementspeed instead)

    – your body gems seem bad. You dont need power charge on critical, but you really need faster attacks linked to cyclone to get more Attacks/second to get power charges and endurance charges, and trigger enough discharges to deal damage and heal you by consuming endurance charges. This is the core idea of the build and it may not be working well with your current cyclone gems configuration.

    2.6 life Mjolner Berserker version:

I use divination distillate during mapping to get the +4 flat max elem up almost all the time without having to guess which element is used by the mobs, item quantity and quality is a nice bonus as well.

Your cyclone setup should be at least 4link: Cyclone – FA – Fortify – Blood magic. Power charge on crit with romiras ring is the worst idea ever.

As I explained in my last post, I put that crit gem just as a random ass filler. I need more currency to get the proper color setup(I ran out of chromatics and fusings so Ive been stuck)

Flask charges gained this way can only occur once every 200ms and gives a charge to one flask at a time

I just looked at you character and passive tree :

Im missing cold dmg on my ring however.

Just did a tier 10 with 15% elemental reflect map, but with the right pantheon, sybils lament and flasks up (divination distillate + topaz/sapphire) I barely noticed it. Damage wise, the clearspeed wasnt bad, even with the wrong element for EE from Sybils Lament. According to POB, I was at 92% resist when both flasks up (most of the time). I could go to 97% with 3 more passive points.

Ive got cold now on my ring. Hopefully this helps

As far ad ascendancy goes you should have normal and cruel lab done for undeniable and unfliching and if you have at least 4.5k life you should go for merci lab for that most impoetant unrelenting key Stone.

(most of those points are explained in the nicely written build guide by Rico) 🙂

You need quite a few suffixes for your flasks:
