2. E for Exceeds Expectations 3. A for Acceptable 4. P for Poor 5. T for Troll Professor Flitwicks Exam For this test you will need to cast a series of Charms. Which charm you need will be called out by Professor Flitwick and you need to aim at the right piece of furniture and cast it. The grade you get depends on how quickly you can perform each charm on the right piece of furniture. The order in which he calls them never changes so if you dont get it first time it is easier to get each time you try as you begin to remember what comes next. To save you the trouble I have listed them below. To achieve an O for this test you will need to cast the spell as soon as you can so you are casting continuously throughout the exam. 1. Wingardium Leviosa on the bench on the far right. 2. Reducto on the tree stump in the middle. 3. Reparo on the plates to the right of the stump. 4. Accio on the chain hanging in the fire place on the right. 5. Depulso on the cabinet that appears on the left. 6. Accio on the chain in the fireplace. 7. Incendio on the candle and plaque that appears on the far left. 8. Reducto on the tree stump. 9. Reparo on the plates. 10. Wingardium Leviosa on the stone bench. Professor Sprouts Exam For this test you need to re-pot Mandrakes as fast as you can. They will appear in two rows of pots, some will be broken with Mandrakes in them and others will be empty waiting for Mandrakes to be put it. The first set will appear with five Mandrakes on the left and five new pots on the right. Use Wingardium Leviosa to move them into their new pots. The second set will have two Mandrakes on the left and three on the right, each at alternate pots. The third round will have three Mandrakes on the left and two on the right. This is different though. Instead of each Mandrake facing their new pot, they are scattered around so you will need to find a new pot for them. It shouldnt be too tricky to do. That was the final round so you can see if you have reached O or try again if you did not. Professor Snapes Exam To pass this test you need to make a potion by adding the right coloured bottle into the cauldron depending on what colour the potion is at the time. For example, if the potion is yellow, use Wingardium Leviosa on the yellow bottle and drop it into the cauldron. The bottles will then change place and the potion will change colour ready for the next bottle. The order in which you need to add the bottles is listed below. 1. Light Blue 2. Green 3. Pink 4. Blue 5. Green 6. Yellow 7. Light Blue 8. Blue 9. Pink 10. Yellow ——————– *3. Ornithology Cup* ——————– – Find all the flying creatures of Hogwarts 5/5 Around Hogwarts there are five groups of flying creatures that can be found. You only need to get discovery points from one different creature within each group to achieve the cup. 3.1 Crows On the Suspended Bridge there are three crows perched on the ropes. Two are high and one is low, walk over to them to make them fly away. You can also find crows in the Stone Circle an at Hagrids Hut. 3.2 Owls Obviously these are found at the Owelry. Three owls can be found near the ground on the outside of the Owelry. Two are on the wall and one is on a perch. There is a sack on the floor that you can use Wingardium Leviosa on to feed a treat to each owl. There are also owls around the outside of the tower that is the Owelry but you will not be able to get those until later in the game when you are helping Colin to annoy Umbridge. 3.3 Seagulls These are found at the Boathouse. The first one is on the wall near the bottom of the stairs leading down from the Entrance Courtyard. There are two perched on the right hand side of the Boathouse that you can touch. On the left hand side of the Boathouse you can use Wingardium Leviosa on the sack on the ground to feed a treat to the three seagulls roosting there. 3.4 Bats These are found on the Stone Bridge, or more precisely, under it. On the left hand side of the bridge, (near the entrance to the first floor), climb up onto the far side wall and the camera will change showing you a stone ridge. You can use this ridge to climb down to a ledge below you. On that ledge sidle all the way to the right and use the second ridge to move down to a lower ledge. Step out onto this ledge and take a step and bats will fly out past you. 3.5 Pixie There is only one Pixie you need to find and it is in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. When you enter go over to the right hand row of desks and cast Wingardium Leviosa on the second one from the back to release the Pixie. ————————– *4. Portrait Password Cup* ————————– Find all the Portrait Passwords of Hogwarts 12/12 There are twelve passwords to find in all and although they are not necessary to complete the main story line, they will help a lot. They can cut your travelling time around the castle quite dramatically as their passages offer many shortcuts. If you talk to a portrait and all they do is continue to sleep on, this means you need to find their other portrait and talk to that one as most of them will have and entrance and exit portrait that are identical to look at. 1. Fat Ladys Portrait This is the first password you will get. When you are trying to find Hermione at the beginning of the game you need to find the password to get into Gryffindor Tower. At this point in the game there is usually a Gryffindor running up or down the staircase near you. Grab them and ask them if they know the portrait password. If there is not a member of Gryffindor near you then find any Gryffindor and they will tell you. When you do find out the password you need is Mimbulus mimbletonia. 2. Damara Dodderiges Portrait You must speak with this woman when you see her on the Grand Staircase on a Third Floor landing. If you try to talk to her in her other portrait she will just snooze on. To get her password is very simple. All you need to do is go down the staircase to talk to the painting of Gifford Ollerton on the first floor. When you have asked him for her food return to her portrait and she will tell you the password is Chops and Gravy. 3. Gifford Ollertons Portrait You must talk to his portrait on the first floor landing of the Grand Staircase. When you do he will tell you that he may only let someone from Hufflepuff through unless they have the password. To get the password you need to have helped a member from Hufflepuff House. So the simple solution is to find someone from Hufflepuff and ask them for the password. I can usually find one in the Entrance Hall to talk to. When you have found one, they will remember that you helped Cederic Diggory last year at Hogwarts so they will tell you the password is Dragons egg. 4. Percival Pratts Portrait This rhyming man can be found on the fifth floor landing of the Grand Staircase. He will ask you to seek the man with faces three. To find the guy with three faces you need to go up to the seventh floor near the Room of Requirements. If you stand with your back to the door for the Room of Requirements and walk down the corridor in front of you, the portrait you are looking for is on your left at the end of the corridor. It is covered in cobwebs so you will need to use Incendio on his portrait first before you can talk to him. When you do he will tell you to find Basil Von Fronsac. To find him you need to go to the portrait on the second floor landing on the Grand Staircase. When you talk to him he will send you to the portrait of the Shepherdess on the second floor landing which is very confusing as you are on that. The secret is he means another second floor landing. You need to go to the corridor on the second floor. When you get to the corridor you will find some stairs that keep turning back on themselves with landings in between. The shepherdess in on the second landing down. Talk to her and she will tell you to talk to Google Stump. To find him you need to go to the Viaduct Entrance. When you get there you will find Google Stump to the right at the bottom of the stairs. He will direct you to Gifford Abbot at the bottom of the Grand Staircase. He is the Hufflepuff portrait whose password is Dragons Egg. Talk to him and he tells This password is absurd. 5. Boris the Bewildereds Portrait This portrait is in the Third Floor corridor near the broken suits of armour. To get his password you need to talk to someone who was at Hogwarts fifty years ago. If you know your Hogwarts well enough you will remember that Moaning Myrtle was killed at Hogwarts fifty years ago by a Basilisk. Go to her bathroom and talk to her and she will tell you the password is Forget-me-never. 6. Library Portrait To get this password you need to bring him the headline from todays Daily Prophet because this is a staff passage and he wont let you through any other way. To get a copy of the Daily Prophet you need to go to the Great Hall and walk to the far end of the Hall. Find the Headmasters Lectern in front of the teachers table and first cast Depulso on it to see a quick cur scene of the bird windows in the rafters. (You will also see the roof which is an unheard of thing in Hogwarts.) When you have done that cast Wingardium Leviosa on the lectern and you will see four owls fly down over the tables. One of them was carrying the Daily Prophet. Run over and pick it up then go back to the portrait in the Library and tell him the news. He will then tell you the password is No News Is Good News. 7. Google Stumps Portrait You must talk to his portrait on a second floor landing on the Grand Staircase. He will tell you to find a first year Ravenclaw student and ask them where Rowena Ravenclaw came from. Head down to the Entrance Hall and you will find one there. Ask them and they will tell you she came from the Glens. Go back to Google and he will grant you access and tell you the password is Studious Success. 8. Basil Von Fronsacs Portrait He can be found in the Viaduct Entrance to the right of the bottom of the stairs. He will only tell you the password if you can get rid of anyone within earshot. This is the easiest password to get. Pull out your wand and aim it at everyone in the entrance so they run away. When you have cleared them out talk to the portrait again and he will tell you the password is Volo Futrus Unus. 9. Dungeons Portrait This portrait is the one you need to open so that Hannah Abbot will attend the first DA meeting. He can be found up one flight of stairs in the Dungeon at the base of the Grand Staircase. All you have to do is talk to him and he will tell you the password is Scurrilous Scoundrel. 10. Herbology Portrait This guy is apparently a bit fed up with looking at the portrait opposite him. All it is is a picture of an eye but you need to cover it up for him to give you the password. To do this you must repair the two broken suits of armour either side of the picture. Use Reparo on them both and a banner will drop down to cover the picture. When this is done talk to the Portrait and he will tell you the password is Flaming Earwigs. 11. Slytherin Portrait To find this one go all the way to the end of the Dungeon Corridor and talk to her. She will tell you that she only lets in people with the password and only Slytherins have the password. To get this password you will need your invisibility cloak so go up to the dormitory and get it on. When you have it go back down to the portrait and you will over hear a group of first year Slytherins talking about using the passage so they arent late for their potions lesson. Follow them down to the end of the corridor and they will use the password. Now that you have over heard it you can now go back up and put the invisibility cloak back then go and tell her the password is Slytherins Are Supreme. 12. Crazy Portrait This portrait is found on the seventh floor and he will ask you to find him. By this he means that you must find his other portrait. Go down to the fourth floor and find him then cast Incendio on the cobwebs covering him up. Talk to him and he will tell you that the password is Three heads are better than one. ——————– *5. House Ghost Cup* ——————– Find all the house ghosts of Hogwarts 4/4 Throughout Hogwarts there are four places that have a portrait of each ghost. This portrait is broken into four pieces and they are all lying on the floor. You must use Wingardium Leviosa to pick up each piece and place it back on the wall where there are four paler patches. When all four pieces are in place you will have discovered that ghost and they will roam up and down the corridor with the exception of Nick who will appear each time in the game when you stand still too long and will remind you what you need to do at each stage in the game. 5.1 Nearly Headless Nick – Gryffindor The first ghost will actually come and talk to you during the game. This is Nearly Headless Nick and he will appear when you leave the Room of Requirements for the first time to go and find the other DA Members. If however you would like to find him before that then his portrait can be found on the third floor. You will see it as you come off the Suspended Bridge next to the Exploding Snap Champion. 5.2 The Grey Lady Ravenclaw The portrait for the Grey Lady can be found right outside the Library on the wall opposite. 5.3 The Fat Friar – Hufflepuff You will find this portrait on the first floor near the Stone Bridge. If you come from that direction move through the round part of the corridor and it is a little way down the next stretch of corridor. 5.4 The Bloody Baron Slytherin This portrait is hidden deep in the Dungeons of Hogwarts. When you enter the corridor, go through the first part into the second and there will be a small room leading off from this part. The portrait for the Baron is in there. ——————- *6. Characters Cup* ——————- Find all characters in the game. 58/58 At the point in the game when you first find the Room of Requirements you will already have encountered 18/58 characters needed for this cup. There is no real effort needed to get this one as you will find all the characters just by playing the game and completing the tasks available. This cup however will not be finished until the end of the game when you have fought Voldermort. ——————— *7. Grand Master Cup* ——————— Beat all the wizard chess champions 3/3 For this cup there are three Chess Champions to be found and defeated around Hogwarts. You will have to play them in a certain order as some will not play you until you have defeated one of the others. They will all play the same rules and they are standard to a game of chess. I cannot really give you any tips on how to beat them all. There is however a way around debating them fairly. I got stuck here myself as I am not a chess player so I went looking through the forums on this site. I cannot remember the name of the person who posted this suggestion (so I cannot give credit unfortunately), but they said to find a site where you can play chess and mimic the game. To do this I used and set up a game against a computer player with them playing as white. Every time they moved I copied it on the game then when they in game player moved I copied that into the pc. With this method it was easy to beat all three players every time. I just wish I could beat them for real loll. 7.1 Start with the Gryffindor Champion who can be found in the Gryffindor Common Room. 7.2 The second opponent you need to take on is the Slytherin Champion who can be found in the Great Hall. 7.3 Finally, when you have defeated both of the other champions you may take on the Ravenclaw Champion in the Library. ———————– *8. Exploding Snap Cup* ———————– Beat all exploding snap champions 2/2 There are two Exploding Snap Champions around Hogwarts who must be beaten to earn this cup. You will know you have found them as you will hear their cards exploding nearby them. You will need to play two different styles of snap, one for each champion, to defeat them both. 8.1 The Gryffindor Champion can be found on the Third Floor near the portrait of Nearly Headless Nick. If you come from the Suspended Bridge end you will see her as soon as you step into the corridor. She will play the Classic Rules which means the cards will turn over one at a time. When two are turned one after the other that match, press the square button to call snap. If you call snap on a pair that dont match they will explode reducing the amount of matches you can make in a game. With each pair you match the speed at which they turn will increase. You must find six or more matches to beat this champion. 8.2 The Hufflepuff Champion can be found in the Fifth Floor corridor near the Clock Tower. If you enter from the Clock Tower you will see her half way down the passage. She will play the Patience Rules. This is played like a game of pairs. The cards will be laid out in front of you face down and you turn two at a time and try to find a match. When you have turned over though, you will only have a short amount of time to find its match before the card explodes so speed is a factor. Find five or more pairs and you will win. ———————— *9. Golden Gobstone Cup* ———————— Beat all Gobstones champions 4/4 This is by far the worst part of this game. There are three styles for playing Gobstones and two of them are easy enough but the third is awful! You need to beat each Champion in three games following their rules. 9.1 Ravenclaw Champion Clock Tower Courtyard Jack Stone Rules This game is easy enough and should not give you too many problems. Each player has four Gobstones and the Jack Gobstone is placed in the middle of the circle. The aim of the game is to have one of your Gobstones closest to the Jack than any other at the end of the game. As your opponent goes first the easiest thing to do is to try each time to knock his Gobstone away from the Jack. As hitting his one will slow your Gobstone down it will usually stop somewhere near the Jack. Beat him three times then you can move on. 9.2 Hufflepuff Champion Entrance Courtyard Traditional Rules This variation of Gobstones is awful. It may take some getting used to as precision is the key. The game begins with fifteen Gobstones in a circle in the middle of the playing field. You and your opponent will take it in turns to flick one of your Gobstones into the ring and try to knock one of the golden Gobstones out of the ring. You each play with only one Gobstone each and move it around the playing area each time you take a turn. If you knock a golden Gobstone out and your Gobstone follows though, they golden one you knocked out will go to your opponent. Persevere and try to be as accurate as you can. That, coupled with the fact that the Hufflepuff Champion is prone to making mistakes from time to time will help you win. Beat him three times. 9.3 Slytherin Champion Paved Courtyard Snake Pit Rules Like the Jack Stone rules this one is easy and applies pretty much the same playing theory. Instead of trying to get close to the Jack Stone, this time you need to get as close as you can to the hole in the middle without actually dropping down into it. I used the same method as I did for the Jack Stone rules and each time it was my turn I knocked my opponents ball out of the way. As theirs slowed mine down it was usually a fail safe way of preventing mine from dropping into the snake pit. You each get four Gobstones and whoevers is the closest at then end wins. 9.4 Gryffindor Champion Paved Courtyard One of Each When you have beaten all of the other three champions you can then challenge the Gryffindor champion. You will need to beat her in one game of each of the three rules. This means you need to beat her once playing the traditional rules, once playing the jack stone rules and once playing the snake pit rules. You can play her the same as you did the others using the same methods except when playing the traditional rules. You go first and she does not make mistakes like the Hufflepuff champion. To get a lead on her you will need to do one of two things. On your first turn deliberately miss the ring of Gobstones forcing her to break them up so you can be the first to get one out of the circle or be flash and try to knock two out at once. This is highly possible in your second move of the game. Aim for a group of two or more Gobstones side by side and hit them hard. If you aim right and dont leave the circle you can get two out at once. —————————- *10. Friend of the Year Cup* —————————- Find Lunas lost belongings 5/5 When you have defeated Lord Voldermort at he end of the game, Luna will be found in the Entrance Hall stood in front of the statue. Talk to her and she will tell you that she has lost her stuff and needs to get them back. To get this cup you need to find her missing belongings and give them back to her. 10.1 Great Hall This can be found on the first table on the left as you enter, about half way down. 10.2 Entrance Courtyard Use the broom to sweep away the leaves on the right hand side of the courtyard, (the side the boathouse is on) and you will find one of her things under a pile of leaves. 10.3 Viaduct Entrance Look on the floor next to the portrait. 10.4 Library This is in plain sight on the end of the table. 10.5 Clock Tower Courtyard As you come out of the portrait head straight into the courtyard and you will see it lying on the ground in front of the fountain. —————— *11. Smuggler Cup* —————— Find Fred and Georges hidden parcels around Hogwarts 12/12 Dotted around Hogwarts Fred and George have hidden a dozen packages, none of which they want to get into the hands of Filch or Umbridge. Find all twelve and you will win this cup. 11.1 Stone Circle Cast Depulso on the fern by the rock in the middle of the Stone Circle. 11.2 Stone Circle Cast Depulso on a fern that lays half way up the trail leading to the Owelry. 11.3 Hagrids Hut Cast Wingardium Leviosa on one of the pumpkins in the patch and place it on top of Hagrids hut on the chimney. When you do this you will find a package on the second ledge up. 11.10 Boathouse At the bottom of the stairs leading from the Entrance Courtyard, turn and walk to the right hand side of the screen to find a package lying on the ground. 11.11 Boathouse – This one can be found lying on the ground halfway down the trail that leads from the Boathouse to the Paved Courtyard. 11.12 Library At the back of the first section to the Library is a large cabinet. Cast Depulso on it to move it aside then collect the package from the gap behind it. ———————– *12. Secret Statue Cup* ———————– Find the secret wizard chess statues of Hogwarts. 12/12 There are twelve statues taken from Wizard chess and hidden around the school. You will find them behind tapestries but not all the tapestries have a statue behind them. Use Depulso to move the curtain and see if there is more than just a wall behind it. If there is use Wingardium Leviosa to open the tapestry and you will find your statues. 12.1 Fourth Floor Coming from the Grand Staircase move down the corridor until you come to some windows on your left. Halfway along the window section there is a tapestry on the wall opposite. Cast Wingardium Leviosa to reveal the chess statue behind it. 12.2 Second Floor Near the Library the corridor bends twice. Famous Witches and Wizards Cup* ———————————— Find the hidden wizard plaques around Hogwarts. 15/15 Hidden around Hogwarts there are fifteen plaques. Some of them are hidden behind stones on the wall and need you to cast Accio to remove the stones. You can then use the square button to look at the plaque. The others will need you to cast Incendio on the small candle below it before you can look at the plaque. 13.1 Dungeons As you enter go down the corridor a short way and you will see the plaque. Unfortunately, I am writing this guide based only from memory — and its been a long time since Ive done some of the quests listed below. Feel free to send in corrections (be it item names, reward info, better solutions). Things in () or [] are names/rewards which I cant remember. So if you do these quests and remember the reward, please inform me 😛 I will eventually have each in-game summary of the quest as well. They can be pretty lenghty, so that will come later. The titles of each quest come from the Quests menu in the game and are NOT translations. Being from Windurst, Ive posted the Windurst quests first 😛 THINGS I NEED HELP WITH: – Titles you attain from finishing each quest – Identifying which quests are hidden — i.e. do not appear on the Current Quest but do appear on the Completed Quest log. – Pre-reqs and possible conflicts for each quest (lvl, fame, other quests) – Locations of the NPCs (the clients and those mentioned in the solutions; also, if you see a solution that doesnt list the specific NPCs you need to see, and you happen to find it while doing the quest yourself, please send in the info) PLEASE SUBMIT TIPS/UPDATES/ETC TO GAMEFAQS FFXI MESSAGE BOARDS AND _NOT_ VIA EMAIL (EVEN IF YOU MANAGE TO FIND MY EMAIL ADDRESS). NOTES: – All quests are listed in the order they appear in the quest menu. – Quests which are in a series are listed one after the other. Then travel to Jeuno to find Rusian. He will then tell you to give Jatan-Paratan a piece of Rosewood Lumber (carpentry; turn Rosewood Log into Rosewood Lumber; lvl 50+ skill?). This is all I know based on talking to the NPCs. I have not done this yet, but Im sure Sneak and Invisible is enough to complete this task. * In a Stew Client: Kuoh Rhel (Chocobo Stables, Windurst Woods) Reward: Solution: Kill any type of mushrooms for Woozy Mushroom and must not have A Crisis in the Making still pending (its a repeatable quest so avoid re-accepting the quest). He will ask for three Woozy Mushrooms. I have onlly managed two so far (to lazy to solo them and we fight Exorays anyway). * Can Cardians Cry? Client: Apururu (Manustery, Windurst Woods) Reward: Solution: Find the Queen of Diamonds cardian… I have no idea where to even start 🙁 My hunch is shes somewhere in Toraimai Canal… Completed Quests: * In a Pickle Client: Chamama (Rarab Tail Hostelry, Windurst Waters) Reward: Bone Hairpin (gil if repeated) Solution: Kill Crawlers and obtain a Smooth Stone. Trade it to Chamama. Go to Eldieme and enter from Batallia (there are several entrances close to each other; it is not the one down by the island). Find a lit torchstand that also has ??? on it. Examine it and choose the option to use the incense. You will fail. Then return to Gantineux, and then visit Epedur (again) for the reward. * Say It with Flowers Client: Moari-Kaaori (House, Windurst Waters) Reward: (sword) Solution: Talk to everyone in the nearby houses, and then to Moari-Kaaori. Then go to the Rhinostery to get more info on the flower. REMEMBER WHAT HOW MOARI-KAAORI DESCRIBES THE FLOWER!!! You will need that info when you talk to the people in the Rhinostery. Then Go to F-6 in Tahrongi and get the flower. So be forgiving. This guide is for the new DragonBall game DragonBall Kai: Saiya-jin Raishuu, which has the distinction of being the first game made under the DragonBall Kai label (DB Kai being the new re-edited and re-mastered version of DBZ currently airing in Japan). So far theres been no word on a US release for this game, but Id say an English version is pretty much inevitable. A lot of the information in this guide, like the detailed stats for bosses, are taken from the official V-Jump guide for this game. Since the V-Jump guide is also currently only available in Japan, hopefully Im not breaking any GameFAQ code of honor for relying on it. I also got a bunch of info from the (Japanese) Game-K page on this game, which is here: Currently this guide contains a walkthrough with boss stats, and a guide to the characters, including how to unlock all their moves, what they do, and how powerful they are. Then I have a list of all the S Combos, and how to perform them. At the moment I have basically nothing in the way of basic control and gameplay instructions or anything translation-related information. I figure you can use aleriths guide for that stuff, but Ill still probably put that sort of thing in later. I also plan on later adding a comprehensive bestiary. *********************************************************************** Walkthrough [WLKT]***************************************************** *********************************************************************** Prologue: Time to Set Out! Fight Jacky Chun. —-Kame House—- This is essentially a tutorial mission, and you play it as Krillin, Tenshinhan, and Yamcha. After the opening narration and scene, Kame- sennin will give you his final training mission: you must retrieve a crystal ball from an island to the south, the same island that Goku and Krillin trained for the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai for. To reach the world map, simply go outside the house and walk to the bottom of the island. You simply tap on the Training Island to go there. Its straight south, and the only other thing on the map at this point. But before you go, inspect the desk in the upper room of Kame House for a Luck Fruit. —-Training Island—- A. When you reach the second area, Bulma will contact you and explain about Capsule Items. You equip these items to the Capsule slots which appear in the bottom DS screen. You have a limited number of these slots (which you can increase at certain points throughout the game). Most of these items will have to be in the top Capsule slot to take effect. Open the two chests above you here to get your first two Capsule items, the Gas Mask and Darkness Charm. The Gas Mask will allow you to walk over the purple poison floor on your right, while the Darkness Charm can potentially inflict Darkness on enemies at the start of battle. Use the Gas Mask to pass over the poison floor, and walk up. Be sure to save at the Save Point, then go up to find the crystal ball. But a man will appear and steal it from youJacky Chun! He says he must test you to see if you are worthy of it. This will be your first boss fight. AquaMan informs her that Atsu and Ty are outside the DenDome, so she runs out. Follow her, and youll see that Atsu and Ty are her twin brothers. They make a conversation about a noisy device, which leads AquaMan to believe hes the subject of their conversation. They talk about discarding the device after the battle and buying a new one in ElecTown. AquaMan is obviously fearful that hell be removed, so he escapes and cries on the net (doesnt seem harsh…YET!) Atsu needs to search for help while Ty looks for Shuko. Talk to Atsu and agree to help him. Hell give you the CybCanst. Run home and jack into the net. It is entirely flooded with water! Take notice to the bar at the top right, representing your oxygen tank (or something). NEVER let it deplete, and as long as youre in another PC or a non-net computer, you can refill your O2 tank. Run to TownArea2 and check the empty green circle at the top right. AquaMan is there, sobbing about his ops disowning. MegaMan assures him that it isnt so, but AquaMan flees, saying that you know nothing of the sort. Pursue him to where ACDCArea2 meets ACDCArea3. Youll watch a cutscene and, as thick-headed as our heroes are, they dont know who it is. AquaMan swims down to the warp point behind Shukos door. MegaMan runs over there, and asks, but AquaMan already has escaped thru the point. You need Shukos key, so jack out. Run to the DenDome and ask Atsu where she is. He tells you that she is in ElecTown1. Run over there, and find her with Ty. She is worried about whatll happen, and gives you ShukoKey to unlock the area. Jack back in and go to the warp point. Follow the long path to where AquaMan is and watch the cutscene. AquaMan just wants MegaMan to leave until MegaMan explains the misunderstanding he had with Shuko about him and a new washing machine. He apologizes and he tells you that he isnt aware of his doing while he cries (this guy must cry a lot to flood the net). He cleans up the water, and you have to hurry to the DenDome. Go to your battle and face AquaMan! Easy: AquaMan (500 HP) Hard: AquaManAlpha (1000 HP) Super Hard: AquaManBeta (1500 HP) AquaMans battle technique is not difficult. He can attack with a Bubbler and can throw a bomb that cracks the square it lands on and has a BublSprd effect. Finally, he can summon faucets from which he can blast water 2 spaces ahead. Nothing difficult, beat her 1, 2, 3 (killed AquaMan in under 20 seconds with a well-timed Silver Bullet). Shell admire the good battle, and she and her brothers go to buy the new washing machine. Shuko trips down the stairs, but this only makes her appreciate how much love a family can give her. Lan and MegaMan also observe this. For Blue Moon players, you will receive AquaSoul. AquaSoul ——– Unite with What Type of Chip: Aqua (indicated by a blue drop) Abilities: -You dont slip on Ice Panels. -Charged shot is a Bubbler for 20 damage. -Charge is much faster. -Like MetalSoul, you can charge an Aqua chip to do twice as much damage. ————————— 8eh. You Dice Now! (Higsby) ————————— Hehehe, Im lazy and not so witty. Watch the Simpsons and youll understand. Your next opponent is Higsby and NumberMan. As you talk, a tournament official walks up to you and delivers you a message from Higsby, saying that he intends to withdraw. Go to his shop to find out. There, Higsby informs you that he is in danger of being closed down by NAM (National Association of Merchants?). One of their workers, Cone, comes in, and explains to Lan that Higsby borrowed the money needed for the shop. He, however, hasnt turned much of a profit, and Cone intends to turn the chip shop into The Scrub Brush. Reminds me of a movie I once watched called UHF with an advertisement for the fictional store Spatula City. Hmm, I could try to fit the Scrub Brush into the song: Scrub Brush, we sell scrub brushes! And thats all! (shudders) Anyway, Higsby needs to rake up enough money, so he starts a chip drive sale to get $. He wants Lan to help distribute posters to navis in the CyberWorld. Get 20 HigsbyAds (OMG its a item you receive with more than 8 letters!) from Nanako. You need to distribute at least 10. She threatens to beat the (insert expletive deleted) if you refuse. Jack into the CyberWorld and find navis all over the place. I made the mistake of not going to PCs (Mayl, JomonElec, etc.) Heres the first 11: Area Location —————————————————————————— ACDCArea1Mr. Prog near Mayls P-Code security cube ACDCArea1NormalNavi near the AquaManBeta set appearance (see AquaMan scenario) —————————————————————————— ACDCArea2HealNavi near the merchant (you can see him as you enter ACDCArea2) ACDCArea2Mr. Prog in the center square or rectangle or whatever ACDCArea2Navi in the opposite corner of the square —————————————————————————— ACDCArea3Check the main path and find the navi looking at FireMans portal ( see FireMan scenario) —————————————————————————— TownArea1Navi near connection to TownArea2 —————————————————————————— TownArea2Navi near the JomonElec link TownArea2Navi at the other end of the C-Slider line —————————————————————————— TownArea3Mr. Prog along the path looking down into the square below TownArea3HealNav at ParkArea end of C-Slider line —————————————————————————— More locations to come. Return to the shop. Nanako will give you a reward equivalent to your rate of distribution (I got 11 and a TripCrak * 🙁 ). Cone enters the store, telling you to give up, and its too late. NumberMan has now been imprisoned in the warehouse in TownArea1. Go there to find NumberMan screaming for help behind the door. Jack out, go to Nanako, and shell give you HigsbyKy, and tells you that theres a second door that needs a code. Go back, unlock the first door, and answer questions (here are my three): Hi! = He _ _ _!===== (enter 110) x=3 y=4, xyx===== (enter 343) 12, 10, 8, ?, ?, ?===== (enter 642) Find NumberMan who is no longer under attack (dammit) and hell thank you. Hell jack out, and so should you. Go back to Higsbys shop and Cone says that he wants to destroy the shop. However, kids rush in, saying that Higsbys shop is better than anything that could be there. Cone retreats, so both you and Higsby go to the DenDome for your battle: Easy: NumberMan (?00 HP) Hard: NumberManAlpha (????) Super Hard: NumberManBeta: (1300 HP) Whip him good. He tells you that it was a great battle and applauds your skill. You will earn NumberSoul. NumberSoul ———- Unite with what Type of Chip: Variable (indicated by a +/-) Abilities: -Charged shot is a die who has a 3X3 radius of blowing up and does 10 times the number on the die. -You get 10 chips at your custom screen (the dark chip slots are gone) —————– 8f. The Champion! —————– After the three battles, you are crowned the Den Champion (fanfare plays)! You get a trophy which is probably as big as Lans head (notice I said head and not ego). You receive outstanding merit and applause, and Lan is only all too welcome to accept it. Figure its time to go home after a hectic day of battles. ———————- 8g. Rest for the Weary ———————- You go home, knowing that you were crowned victor. You can spend this time jacking into devices to collect BMDs, and also get praise from friends and family. Then, go to sleep. =============================== 9. Chapter 3-Lessons of Love… =============================== ——————————————– 9a. Whats Wrong? The DarkChip, thats What! ——————————————– First, we turn to NAXA, where Dr. Regal pours over the asteroids data furiously. He takes a walk, trying to calm himself. ***MEANWHILE*** You wake up the next morning, and hear about another tournament, the Eagle Tournament. Further information will be provided later. You go to the park, and reminisce about what Higsby said about the DarkChip. MegaMan tells him to forget about it, when Mayl enters the scene. ———————— 9b. What Does Mayl Want? ———————— Mayl wonders whats been with Lan for the last week. Replying that hes been preoccupied, Mayl tells him to come by later, so they can explore the Net together (aw, it aint a date…not just yet). Go by her house later and she will tell you to jack into her PC. Shell give you her P-Code, so proceed to TownArea3, where Roll is. Not a hard task. When you get there, Roll tells you that somethings going down. ————————- 9c. Revelations: Castillo ————————- Theres an orange navi nearby, offering FreePasses to those who can beat his set of viruses. Well, Roll is excited, and she coerces you to fight on her behalf…go ahead and fight. After all, where better to go on a first outing? (Easy) 1. 3 MettEX (one has a [?]) 2. 2 MelodyEX 3. MettEX, MelodyEX, Gaia (Hard) 1. 3 Mett2EX (one has a [?]) 2. 2 HellodyEX 3. Mett2EX, HellodyEX, Gaia+ (Super Hard) 1. 3 Mett3EX (one has a [?]) 2. 2 FelonyEX 3. Mett3EX, FelonyEX, GaiaMega Once you win, youll receive the FreePasses, and the navi will practically shudder in fear of your technique. Jack out, and converse with Mayl. Lan assumes that shell want to take Yai and he can go with his dad some other day, but Mayl has other plans. Before she can tell you her intentions, your doghouse alarm goes off! To The Lan-Cave! (plays Batman theme here) ———— 9d. ALARM!!! ———— Once home, clamber up to your room and find your mom tied up in a corner and saturated with sleeping gas. How awful!….As you investigate, no money or property was swiped…what upstanding burglar would bust into a house and not have the temptation to grab anything? Anyway, inspect your PC, and youll find a message on the screen: Youve been warned, Lan. We can easily do much worse. If you dont want those you care for to get hurt more, bring the DarkChip to ParkArea2. ——————— 9e. To The Park Area! ——————— Mkay, standard-issue threatening note, threat of bodily harm to family and friends, anyone know where ParkArea2 is? Never fear, for the scouting has already been done! Head on over to Town Area 3, taking the scenic route so that you earn cash and chips for the machine, and stop at the end of the main road, in front of the giant pink door. Apparently you need a password to open the door, and shooting at it doesnt work. A navi runs around and accuses you of trying to break in. Before MegaMan can explain his work, the navi hops into battle. Foolish little guy. (Easy) NormalNaviAlpha (300 HP) (Hard) NormalNaviBeta (800 HP) (Super Hard) NormalNaviOmega (1200 HP) You should have no trouble here. YOu should have LifeSwd by now, use it! It is incredibly useful in the early game. Anyway, once you knock him down, youll find a shred of data that says: AJEKDUR 2437561 Well, letters and numbers. Each vertical pair is to be treated as a unit. Rearrange the bottom row to be in ascending order, and you get the password. Enter RAEJDUK, and you can pop in. Head to the upper-left corner, and find a BMD with RegUp2. Anyway, try to head over to a link, and enter Park Area 2. Enter the warp pad, and make the first right. Find the navi at the end, and jump into the fray. (Easy) HealNavi (100 HP), 2 MettEX (Hard) HealNaviAlpha (300 HP), 2 Mett2EX (Super Hard) HealNaviBeta (500 HP), 2 Mett3EX Once youre done, hell reveal himself to be a part of the DarkChip crime syndicate, Nebula (Yay! Now we have another syndicate to topple!) Hell get that chip sooner or later (man hes desperate!) and hell jack out. Jack out as well. ——————————– 9f. Setting A Date For Your Date ——————————– Mayl calls you, and wants you to go to Castillo with you. Your mom insists that you go, so head over there, but before you do, good ol father sends you an e-mail. Its none other than the: RETURN OF THE NAVI CUSTOMIZER! Hallelujah, or is it? Youre forced to do the tutorial (DAMN IT!) like the one in BN3. After you calibrate it, go back to her house, as the train wont take you there. She tells you that she wanted to go with you, (ooh, score!), so run over to Castillo via train, and find Mayl, who already went ahead. ————————– 9g. Castillo, Here I Come! ————————– Luckily, you arent that late, so head on in. However, somethings disrupting the rides, and it looks like a virus is the cause. Lan to the rescue! Jack into the nearby cart and head into the Net and proceed to ParkArea3. You have to pick up the P-Code first, so talk to the green navi in that PC. You should eventually find one navi standing over another, so continue down that path to find a panel, but viruses infected it: (Easy) 3 Shrimpy (Hard) 3 Shrimpy2 (Super Hard) 3 Shrimpy3 Wax em fast and jack out. Before you talk to Mayl, jack into the second ice cream cart to get a HP Memory (Super Hard: 1300 zennys). When you talk to her, shell notice the rides are up (no really). She however wants you to get her ice cream. ———————————————- 9h. Lessons of Love Part 1: Spend On Your Date ———————————————- Ok, remember the rules of love. Youre the guy, so spend on your date. Get her the ice cream, but youre surprised to see that Nanako, Higsbys worker, is here. She claims the pay is better (and who wouldnt take work in an amusement park over a small self-established chip shop?). Shell give you free ice cream as a bribe 🙂 Anyway, give Mayl the ice cream, and shell want to go on the rides. —————————————————- 9i. Lessons of Love Part 2: Dont Disagree With Them —————————————————- Typical girl. Anyway, you must learn the second rule: Conflict is no good for a relationship. Ok, ride with her on everything she wants, and after the second one, shell want to keep exploring. Go to MelSquare, right below, and enter the Vampire Manor (fitting name). All of a sudden, Mayl will be chased by the Halberd Princess. (You are almost complete with your lessons of love.) —————————————————— 9j. Lessons of Love Part 3: Save Your Date From Danger —————————————————— Both of you will run out of the Manor, but before you subdue the robot, check out the Django picture in the Manor, and take the GunSol1 G chip (short for Gun Del Sol, Djangos most prized vampire-hate weapon). Quickly, jack into the robot, and take a ride. —————————— 9k. Castillo Bots; Their Story —————————— The four robots are mechanized by a single switch (pretty much asking to be hacked), but viruses have destroyed parts of the story data, so you must piece it together. (If you paid attention, there are mini-story tidbits on the posts outside the rides) ——————— 9ka. Halberd Princess ——————— The first stop will tell the story (Im too lazy to write it out) and you need the data piece Mirror. However, grab the BMD for 1400 zennys (Hard Mode: RegUP 1, Super Hard: HP Memory). Plug it in, and proceed to the second part of the story. The BMD here should contain a NCP (Navi Customizer Program) HP+50 (Pink) (Hard Mode: 3200 zennys, Super Hard: 1000 zennys). Grab the data BigTree and plug it in. The third part of the story needs the piece of data MightyBl, but remember to grab the BMD containing a RegUP 1 (Hard Mode: Counter3 V, Super Hard: M-Cannon G). You will come to the button, and as you turn it off, viruses will turn it back on (how lame). (Easy) BillyEX [?], MelodyEX (Hard) SillyEX, HellodyEX (SUper Hard) KillyEX, FelonyEX After they are defeated, the Halberd Princess is stopped. You think that everything is alright, having stopped the robot attacking your date, but the WzDog bot is out of control. Jack into it and you will undergo a similar experience. ———- 9kb. WzDog ———- Jack into WzDog, and take the ride. The first chapter, grab the data WzMonkey and also the BMD containing a RockCube * (Hard Mode: 1500 zennys, Super Hard: 1 BugFrag). Move along and grab the BMD with an HP Memory (Hard Mode: 1 BugFrag, Super Hard: BugBomb B). Pick up the data MagicSel, and continue to the third part. There is yet another BMD, containing a Vulcan2 B (Hard Mode: Recov150 C, Super Hard: 2200 zennys), and grab two data pieces: GoodNose and Scratch. Insert these pieces of data into the story in this order. You will come to the button, and yet again the viruses turn it on as you turn it off. (Easy) MettEX, 2 BillyEX (Hard) Mett2EX, 2 SillyEX (Super Hard) Mett3EX, 2 KillyEX When done, another robot is out of control. Jack into the TinMan robot. ———– 9kc. TinMan ———– When in, follow the river path. For Chapter 1, grab War and Emotion and place them in that order. Go to Chapter 2. The BMD here will contain a NCP Charge +1 (? color) (Hard Mode: HP Memory, Super Hard: NCP HP+300 Yellow). Get Bird and Dance and put them in that order. You will continue when viruses attack the raft: (Easy) Dharma, Spikey, SpikeyEX (Hard) Karma, Spikey2, Spikey2EX (Super Hard) Dogma, Spikey3, Spikey3EX The operator will remark that it never happened before (a likely story) and continues to Chapter 3. The BMD gives you a RegUP 2 (Hard Mode: NCP Attack+1 White, Super Hard: 1 BugFrag). Grab the data ToyPart. You come to the switch, and yet again, fight the viruses on the switch. (Easy) 2 MelodyEX, SpikeyEX (Hard) 2 HellodyEX, Spikey2EX (Super Hard) 2 FelonyEX, Spikey3EX As you fix it, Mayl calls you and tells you to stop the rogue bot who entered the manor. ——————————– 9kd. Django The Solar Boy/Dracky ——————————– Its pitch black, but just navigate by the walls (the light doesnt matter at all). Jack into the Vampire robot. This robot comp is much different as there is a river of lava and the raft operator seems to be a shady character. MegaMan feels an oddly dark presence but ignores it. The first part needs the two data pieces, in this order: GunSol and CrmScarf. Plug them in, and you move onto part 2. The BMD here is an HP Memory (Super Hard: RegUP 1). Grab Otenko and move onto the third part. Get Sunlight. Then, you come to a twisting path. Choose Apple and proceed to the final wall. The BMD here has a Recov80 J (Super Hard: Vulcan3 W). Grab Skylight and Taiyohhh! (heh, what a stupid battle-cry). Before the end, another virus battle hits the raft: (Easy) MettEX, VolGearEX, Gaia (Hard) Mett2EX, VulGearEX, Gaia+ (Super Hard) Mett3EX, ValGearEX, GaiaMega When that is done, run down and turn off the switch…hey, wait a second, aint no switch here! ———————– 9l. ShadeMan v. MegaMan ———————– The raft operator innocently gets off and asks if theres a problem. He reveals himself as ShadeMan after admitting to destroying the switch. ShadeMan insists on the DarkChips return, and MegaMan dodges an attack. Lan and MegaMan confide briefly, and it looks like hell return the chip to ShadeMan (Now, yall might be thinkin, What is he thinking?). As he tosses it, he uses his MegaBuster to destroy the data. ShadeMan is furious at this slight and engages you in battle: (Easy) ShadeMan: 500 HP (Hard) ShadeManAlpha: 800 HP (Super Hard) ShadeManBeta 1100 HP Just like in the ElTwrCmp, use your buster on him, as chips will have no effect. MegaMan is worried that nothing can stop him, and all of a sudden, when you activate the Custom Screen, the screen darkens, revealing two chips at the bottom, both DarkSwrd chips. They are able to do 500 damage and have an area of 2 columns X 3 rows. If you look at the description it will be: DARKCHIP CREATED BY DESIRE. (!!NOTE!! ALL DARKCHIPS WITH FORCED USE IN SCENARIOS WILL NOT DEDUCT 1 HP PERMANENTLY) Defeat him, and ShadeMan will merely say that his mission was accomplished, forcing MegaMans use of the DarkChip. He tells him that it will unlock a dark soul within him and he dies. MegaMan jacks out and you come out, finding that Chaud has arrived to investigate. —————————– 9m. Chaud…Youre A Bit Late —————————– Chauds timing is excellent 🙂 Anyway, hell ask who the culprit is. Youll tell him that ShadeMan controlled these and you deleted him with a DarkChip. Chaud is taken aback about this development. He tells you the horrific events of using a DarkChip. It costs 1 life for each use, and they unlock an evil inside the navi that used it. Hell also mention the Crime Syndicate Nebula, and their illegal use of them, but will leave you to escaping the scene without harrassment. Anyway, go home and worry your ass off about what Chaud said. ————————- 9n. Embrace The Dark Side ————————- Lan is seriously affected (mentally) by the possible adverse affects of the DarkChips. He swears that he will never ever use a DarkChip again, yet desire may disagree with him. Go home and sleep on a good days work. ============================== 10. Chapter 4-Eagle Tournament ============================== ———————– 10a. How Do I Register? ———————– The next morning, you sit downstairs, when your doorbell is rang. An official arrives and explains to you that they are hosting the Eagle Tournament 🙂 (another chance to show off). The official gives you a point and your screen registers a counter. You need 50 points to enter the tournament. When you collect them, talk to the man in front of Castillo. ————————————– 10b. Passing The Registration-Castillo ————————————– So, you need 50 points, huh. Accordingly, theyre scattered all across the Cyberworld, in various PCs, and in the real world. Neverwinter Nights Gold FAQWalkthrough
Creatures, so get used to it. If you have not done so yet, summon your familiar. As you leave the room, (the way you came in) youll be accosted by a mysterious mage, who will sick a couple of one-hitpoint goblins on you. Dont bother with spells, this is a game of paintball- one tag and down they go. If you havent rested and have unmemorized spells, now would be a good time to rest. Note that the sneaking-down-the-hall style is not very effective in the prelude, even for rogues- youre just not high enough level with Stealth yet, and youll rarely if ever avoid detection long enough to get a sneak attack. Wait until level four or so. Now would also be a good time to SAVE THE GAME. You can either go a few steps down the hall and then to the large door to your right that you havent gone into yet, or you can clean out the training floor that you recently passed through. Although any experience you get is pointless, (leveling from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 is going to be automatic) the treasure is still good and it will help you get used to Neverwinter Nights. Each room has a few goblins in it, and the Warriors training plaza has about five to contend with. Dont bother zoning back past poor dead Olgerd- all you discover in the starting room is that Bim is also dead. Gee, how did a pack of goblins that probably have fewer than twenty hitpoints between them wipe out these veteran warriors and spellcasters? Ive beaten the game, and I still dont know. Once you go through the big door, prepare to fight the mage and his goblins again. No big deal. Now, save the game. Theres a chest to the left that offers something sweet- warriors seem to get a breastplate, spellcasters a Ring of Fortitude +1. Proceed throught the stables to meet Pavel the Brotherless, who offers to join you. Theres no reason not to take him up, so let him teach you about henchmen and tag along. Go through the door to a hallway that forms a square on your map around a central room. Go into the central room, and wipe out the inhabitants and loot the area. Through the door intersecting the square hallway, and youll meet an old man who gives you your first free level up and offers you a tutorial on how to level up. D&D vets wont need it, everyone should listen once. After youre through leveling (I suggest you save it first- leveling is a time of experimentation, and things go wrong.) go through the door. Clean out the goblins in the room immediately to your right for fun and profit. Then leave the room and continue south down the hallway. Clean out the skeletons behind the door at the two-way intersection (you may want to rest and heal around now) for more fun and profit, then continue west toward the T intersection. All three ways here lead to the same spot. Assuming youre looking to do everything, first go right (north) and clean out the warehouse, then about face and go south to clean out the library. Rest and save, youre finally about to finish off that inispid Mysterious Mage. If youre a combatant, rush the mage and hack him to interrupt his spells. (Dual wielders obviously have an advantage here.) If youre a caster, then try hitting him with a stunning spell, wipe out the goblins with Pavel, then melee the mage. Elminster hes not, as long as you can shut him down fast. Loot the Archers Belt (usually) from his body, and put it on- its a nice item. Proceed to the Stables and the end of the Prelude. In the stables, you get to watch a couple of goblins with four hitpoints among them free the Waterdhavian Creatures despite the best efforts of a pair of clerics. Help the latter mow down the goblins, then talk to one of the clerics. Youll learn about the relationship between Aribeth and Fenthick, (yeah, too bad hotshot) and that Desther has even more of a stick up his rectum than what D&D fans expect from a Helmite. Congratulations on your level up. This is your last automatic one, unfortunately- from now on, every little bit of experience counts. Proceed through the door before/after you level up. (You start Chapter 1 at the rear of a Tyrran temple.) 1.0 CHAPTER 1 (a.k.a. More utterances of the word Waterdhavian than there are citizens of Neverwinter.) Emerging into the back of the Temple of Tyr, you can have a conversation with Fenthick and Desther, standing before you. They tell you about goings on in the past week, and the dire straights the city I in. Wait, its in which the city is. Thats better. You now have your first of several enjoyable opportunities to be rude to Desther, which I enjoyed. You also discover Lady Aribeth is waiting in the next room. Go speak to Lady Aribeth, and she charges you with the recapturing of the Waterdhavian (sigh) creatures. Apparently, chaos is reigning- a prison revolt in the Penninsula district, an explosion of undead in the Beggars Nest, an uprising of cutthroats at the Docks, and a bunch of callous aristocrats in the Blacklake district. Sounds like a job for Superman, but hes on vacation so youre up. She suggests (and I agree) that you try the Penninsula district first. Like any good RPGer, youre going to want to peer around town first, to see who says interesting things, what quests need to be done, and what equipment you can afford (not much). Talk to Tomi Undergallows on your way out- he costs more money than hes worth right now, but if you dont plan on following my advice and taking a level or two of rogue down the road, (or cant because of race/class restrictions) youre going to be coming back for him quite often. Familiarize yourself with Sergol and the portal in the temple- youre going to donate tens of thousands of gold pieces to Tyr via those portals before the final blow against the as-yet-unknown enemy is struck. After talking to the girl just outside the temple, (she asks you to help with the problem at the Penninsula, simply report back to her for some more experience when you clear out that part of town) youre free to explore. First thing on your list should be to walk around every section of the City Core. On the itinerary for magi is the Cloaktower and Eltoora just to the left of the door from which you emerge. Druids and Rangers should check out Nyatar at the tree next to the Cloaktower and receive a quest for (much) later. Melee classes should get a feel for the Shining Knight where a certain dwarf in the basement will make relics if you have the cash and the ingredients. Everyone should check out the Trade of Blades, where five useful henchmen (like Tomi) can be hired. Daelan Red Tiger is a powerful half- orc barbarian of the Uthgardt and a compliment to anyone. His quests are the easiest to do and net you a nice amulet that gives you more strenght throughout the game. Linu Laneral is an elven cleric and a godsend for warriors, especially later in the game when the Heal spell becomes more accessible. (Note that her AI is terrible- you should tell her manually to heal you if you need it.) Boddyknock Glinckle is a sorcerer, a profession not suited to AI. You may get good results out of him- I didnt. If you decide to try him out, remember to rest a lot, because he WILL blow all his good spells on goblins with a dragon on the horizon. Sharwyn is a bard, and Ill be frank- *phhbbbt*. Besides her overstated I-Care-Not, she specializes in dying and failing to be of use. Her defense spells are helpful, but she has a tendency to stop in the middle of the road and start casting them for no reason, making you choose between waiting for her and using the Follow command (you should have this hotkeyed for all henchmen) to yank her along. Grimgnaw fills the same role as Daelan Red Tiger and just as well, except that a)hes quite evil and b)he lacks the barbarians hitpoints but outmatches him in Armor Class. Quests accumulated while exploring the city core will be discussed in section 1.5- Chapter 1 Side Quests. 1.1 PENNINSULA DISTRICT Since the releasing of the Waterdhavian creatures, theres been a prison break, and the inmates have overrun the district. Rumors have it that Captain Alaefin, the head Gaoler in Neverwinter, has gone crazy and set all the prisoners free. The guards are barricaded in front of the gate to the city core, determined not to let the escapees penetrate the inner district. Into this mess comes you, the new recruit. Talk to Captain Kipp if you like, and find out interesting locations on your itinerary- primarily, the Militia Headquarters. Clean out the house and containers in the cul de sac to the left. Then take the right fork, helping the guards in front of the ramp take out some rebel prisoners. Go up the ramp. Take care to notice the scattered groups of prisoner guards (small joke) patrolling. Just ahead from the ramp, youll have to fight a particularly large group in and around the ruins of the main wall of the prison, so save the game. If the fight gets too hot (it probably will) run back to the gate and the guards will cover for you. You should be using Daelan, because none of your other henchmen are as consistantly effective yet. (Tomi, Sharwyn and Grimgnaw dont have enough hitpoints, Linu and Boddyknock dont have enough spells.) The enemies in this district are more alert than anywhere else in the game- maybe BioWare hadnt gotten the hang of scripting a good alert radius yet- so assume if you see someone that theyve seen you. Try leaving your henchman behind (the Stand Ground and Follow commands should be hotkeys, so you can switch between them) and sneaking up on someone if youre a rogue or ranger. After you take out the prisoners partying in the ruins to the right of the ramp-path, about-face to the east across the street and talk to Master Johns. He was being kept a prisoner of the prisoners, for what purposes I dont care to imagine. Take him back to the gate for 62 experience and some Good alignment if you want. Go back to where you founnd him and continue generally East, looting and pillaging as you go. (Hey, if you dont take it, the prisoners will. And how else are you supposed to fund this little operation?) Go East, cleaning out the standalone house to your right and the row home to your left- both sport a number of prisoners and some treasure. Make your way to the corner where the Mercantile and the Militia Headquarters stand side be side. Dont go in yet, unless you really want to. Go North, kill a few prisoners, clean out the guardhouse behind Mrs. Dulicae, then rescue her (just like Master Johns). The guardhouse sports four thugs and a leader. Then go behind the HQ building and kill the one or two stragglers lurking in the cul-de-sac. Loot away. Go into the Mercantile and unburden yourself. Buy maps of the city if you want them- the advantage is knowing where everything is and how the city is structured without having to explore. The disadvantage is not knowing if youve been to a certain area before. Rest, Save, then head into the Headquarters and get down to business. Sebos Sedile is the leader of this area. She seems kind of ditzy for the head of a militia company, but she offers a 300 gold piece reward for taking care of the problems in this district. Intrepid adventurer that you are, you readily accept, and she tells you about getting into the prison. You can decide how to get in…once youve finished getting the most exp and treausre possible, of course. In any case, head toward the Sewer Access on your new map. (If you didnt buy the map, head southwest.) Around the Sewer Access youll fight a miniboss, so save it. The gang leader has about eighty hitpoints. You might want to try parry-mode if you levelled it up. Rogues may try losing him in the streets, then returning for a sneak attack- or you can just sneak attack as Daelan distracts him. Dont be shy with the Healing potions- you get more of them than youll need. Make sure to drink some Barkskin before the fight, if you have it. DO NOT OPEN THE CHEST. Save the game first. Now, before you is the first of what I like to call Boss Chests. Boss Chests, as I explained in the Walkthrough Notes, randomly drop a really cool (for your level) item. Feel free to keep loading the game until you get something you can use- dont be too picky, though- you shouldnt ditch the good armor just because you really want a magic axe. It could be an hour before an axe shows up. Also, if youre getting frustrated, just go with an item you think will sell for the most- heavy armor generally sells the best, as do heavy weapons. Now, save it and head into the sewer. Youll be plunged into a battle- royale. Prepare to use your Stone of Recall to teleport to safety. Work on the thugs, first, then go after the leader. Now, go back outside (from any door) and work your way around the perimeter of the Prison, killing and looting. Be cautious- there is at least one more (less difficult) Gang Leader waiting for you. When you cant go any further, go into Lady Tanglebrooks house. (The key is under the mat.) Save the game- two stink beetles await you in the west room. After you kill them, check out both south side rooms, (the door in the west room is trapped) then go downstairs. When you get into the chess room, save the game and TELL YOUR ASSISTANTS TO HOLD THEIR GROUND. Walk up to the chessboard, activate Detect Mode…then go get something to drink, maybe a snack. Let your character just sit there, his Search check slowly uncovering all the traps. When youre ready, save the game and go to the left of the board. Loot the boxes. Then work your way slowly to the right side. Loot the boxes. Then save it, and look across the other bridge- see the Fire Beetles? Move close to the gap, but not the bridge. You should have them trapped, or at least with a long stretch to cover before they get to you. Open fire. When the beetles are dead, go across and up into the Prison. ONCE YOURE IN THE PRISON, tell your assistants to follow you again. Go around the bend and east into the room. Defeat the gang, then move north to the cell block. Dont bother with the cells now, but head east and then north through the door. (The door on the right is trapped, wait a while.) Take out the gang guarding it, then heal up. Youre now in the MAIN HALL, so if you did the quest the way it was supposed to be done (i.e Finding the key) youve just come in. I was just about to tell my fellow Max Powerites to go into the Southwestern door, in which is another gang is defending the locking mechanism to all the locked cells they passed by following my way. You can loot the South Wing cells if you want, but when youre done go into the Northwestern door (from the Main Hall) and wipe out yet another subgang to open the North Wing Cells. The Armoire in this room usually furnishes good loot. Next, clean out the Northeastern room, (the door is trapped) which has (gasp) another mini gang, and two loot containers. Now, head out the Westernmost door on the North Wall. A fight near the intersection, and youll be in the North Cell block. Clean out the cells, then head into the only North door leading from that cellblock. It leads into an storehouse. Relieve the prison of its surplus valuables, then rest and SAVE THE GAME TO A SEPARATE FILE, especially if youre the type of person who likes to quicksave during a large battle. On the other side of the West door is the biggest fight of the game so far. Try to pull foes one at a time, because if the forces) farther south (lead by a powerful Gang Leader) join up against you…youre doomed. Make sure you have potions handy here. DO NOT TRY TO SNEAK UP ON ANYONE TOWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM. Youll be instantly surrounded and cut to ribbons. Instead, pull one of them with a missile weapon. Make sure your henchman stays out of the way of this delicate procedure until the fighting starts. Anyone but Daelan is going to get ripped to shreds, and even he is probably going to bite the dust once. If youre a caster, prepare to spend some money teleporting back for healing- and even then, I hope you levelled up Concentrate. No matter what your class, take out the thugs first, then take the leader. Casters should memorize defense spells. Once youve (if youve) managed to win this brouhaha, SAVE THE GAME BEFORE LOOKING AROUND. Theres a two real nasty guard dogs around that hit for more than ten damage. The chest by the stairs is a BOSS CHEST, so you may want to save it. You can open the four doors on the East side of the room. Two lead to small storage rooms (with the guard dogs, and no treasure), the middle one leads into the main corridor leading back to the Main Hall, and the other door leads to the South Cell block. If you havent been everywhere on this floor, finish up, then head downstairs. When you get downstairs, youll be greeted by an elf. Follow him into the proper room, then lock the door as he tells you. Hell fill you in on the prison and details. When youve finished, leave him and go out into the heavily patrolled halls. Your first objective is to kill everyone in the central room- no easy task, as its gaurded by a mighty spellcaster and nearly a regiment of thugs. Heres my suggestion: Open the door, and shoot an arrow or spell at someone. Then turn tail and run back to your henchman, who should be planted down the hall a good fifty yards. Kill those goons that are still chasing you, then work your way back to the room. If a large pack starts to form again, run for it. If the sorcerer is in range, run for it. Then work your way back. When the sorcerer is out of earshot of his support, sneak up on him (literally if you have stealth) and let him have it. In the center room is a boss chest, and some other good loot. There are four other rooms on this floor, two on the North and two on the South, packed with minigangs and treasure. (The wooden door on the south side is trapped.) Some of the cells have lootable bodies on them. Visit all these places, watching out for prisoner patrols as you pillage. When youre all finished, head downstairs. Welcome to the Pits. A.k.a. The Hole in Oz. Flip the switch to open the door, then get ready for a fight as a spell casting gang leader is waiting for you, along with some thugs. You may want to pull them with a bow, to limit how many can fight you at once. Loot the room, then head south. Kill the door guards, then open the door. Theres a trap in the middle of the room- after you kill the thugs, either avoid it by sticking to the fringes or disarm it. In the next room, theres another, smaller trap in the middle of the floor, but the larger problem is the half-dozen thugs led by a sorcerer. Pull them out in as small numbers as possible- you may even want to try the HitNRun tactic (pun intended) from the sorcerer upstairs. This is the Hub of this floor- southeast is the way you came in. West is just a cell with a dog, a prisoner, and some valuable garbage. North is the right way, and thus is the last way you should go. Southwest leads you to a battle with a pack of thugs. Kill them, and save it, because the next room (not the locked door) sports a gang being led by (another) sorcerer. Use the same hit and run tactic if you have trouble. The room youre in now should be shaped like an insect. The Western legs lead to locked up treasure rooms, one dog in each. The treasure is pretty good- you may want to consider chopping the doors down, though it will take awhile. The Southeast leg is the direction you came in, and the Northeast leg takes you toward the end of the floor- but assuming youre looking to sweep the whole floor, return to the Hub room instead of going in, so we can stay on the same page. From the hub room, go north now. You will be entered into two battles, each supported by a Leader. Kill them, rest, and save. The east door, if you can open it, leads to a small room with a foe and a treasure. Follow the corridors Notheast, and youll soon see a Gang Leader on the edge of your vision. Save it, this ones a doozie. Plant your henchman, open fire, and get ready for a Defensive Fight. (see Walkthrough notes) When youre finished, open your Boss Chest and then make your way to the 3 way intersection to the Southwest. Fight your way down the East hall, then go back to the intersection and go South. Clean out the room, take the treasure- the circle on your map should be complete. Go back north, then down the East hall you just cleaned out, Rest and Save the Game. Heres the first of two bosses. The half orc Kurdan Fenkt is a formidable fighter. Luckily, you only have to get him down to Near Death, but its still a very tough fight, and a DEFENSIVE BATTLE. Boddyknock is pretty handy here, shooting Acid Arrows at the Half-Orc as you parry with your swords or block with your shield, maybe even switching between the two if you find that even with Parry, hes still hitting frequently. (If youre using two handed weapon attacks, stop for this fight.) Dont be shy with Healing potions, this is what theyre for. After you beat Kurdan, hell declare a truce. I strongly suggest you agree while you can. Interrogate him, discover that youve managed to corner the Intellect Devourer, (one of the Waterdhavian Creatures, if you dont remember) then let him go and teleport back to the Temple. Sell, recruit Daelan, rest, go back in the portal and save the game. The battle against the Head Gaoler is certainly a DEFENSIVE BATTLE. If Daelans still with you, dont go into parry mode unless youre a rogue. (the Gaoler will just turn his attention to your henchman). Once Daelan dies, of course, feel free to parry away. Once the head Gaoler dies, (dont be ashamed about wasting money on teleporting back and forth) youll have to take out the Intellect Devourer as it possesses each of the four other guards. If you persuade the guards to leave beforehand, you can forego this and just kill the Devourer. Once thats over with, Recall home and SAVE THE GAME. Sic Daelan on the Devourer. The things AC is off the charts, and its magic resistance is also a bit high, so expect a long and wearisome battle. It isnt that hard once the Gaoler is dead, however. (Except for the insane AC.) Again, prepare to eat the teleportation costs, and you should be fine. After youve slain it, loot the chambers (including two Boss Chests) and teleport home, victorious. Congratulations, youve liberated the Penninsula District. Remember to tell the people hanging out in front of the gates to the district, as well as the girl outside the temple, of your victory for some extra experience. 1.2 BEGGARS NEST Shortly after the release of the Waterdhavian creatures, undead began appearing in the common housing district of Neverwinter, also known as the Beggars Nest. Within a week, the walking dead had multiplied to the hundreds, and had forced those still alive to flee the district. Now its your turn to force back, as you walk into the district well rested and with your game saved to a separate file. Note that Clerics and Paladins should not waste their Turning on random patrols of Beavis Zombies. Wait for the large groups, or the harder undead, or right before you rest if you have extra. Talk to Ergus. From the guard barricade, walk forward, take out the undead, then scythe north around the standalone building. Go right (East) at the first intersection, then right again (south) at the next. Walk down the street toward the Shining Serpent. Get ready for a fight, as four armed thugs jump you outside the building. Melee combatants shouldnt have trouble at full hitpoints, casters should have a defense spell up before going near the building. Pick a note off of one of your assailants. Read it, then take it back to Aribeth and Fenthick whenever you feel like it- you get some gold and get to insult Desther again. Go into the Serpent. Talk to Herban Ashensmith, who will fill you in on the situation and give you a quest to find Krestal and Jemaine. Also speak to Drake for another perspective on the problem. Then go upstairs and loot the containers- the loot is very good, with a semi-boss-chest in one room. Head over to the temple of Tyr across the road, and talk to the priests, preferably getting the Lost Soul quest. Head back to the Guard post near the core and get the Find Walters quest if you want it. Now Get ready- this next run is going to sweep the town and leave a lot of twice dead corpses. From the guard barricade, walk forward (maps open, boys and girls) and make a left in front of the standalone house from before. Kill the undead surrounding the house, then go into the row-home door just to the East of it. More undead need slaying. You can go into the standalone home if you want- theres a (justifiably) afraid man in there, and a bureau to loot. Go north past the sewer grate, (a black dot on your map) then left at the corner and into the first barricaded home. The sign on the merchant shingle says Sirils Bakery. Take out the zombies and loot Sirils Corpse, which has a recipe that will enable you to solve Boddyknocks quest when he gives it to you at a higher level. Congratulations, youve solved a quest you havent been given yet. See details in section 1.5.1. Also, check the containers, as one contains an Ingredient that will enable the dwarf in the Shining Knight in the City Core to make you a low level relic. From the bakery, go back onto the North/South street and take it up to the next barricaded home. Wipe out the undead- this battle is sort of a chain reaction and may take you further up the street than you intended. Thats fine, just come back to the second Barricaded Home when youre done. (Its next to the ruined garden.) Inside is Jemaine. Talk to him and get you to give you the key to the Strange House to the North. Go outside and head North. The cul de sac with the strange house is where youll be going. If you want to just get it over with, skip to where I type STRANGE HOUSE in caps. The rest of us are going on a rampage, well meet you there in a little while. From the Strange House cul de sac, go east. You should be well rested- get ready to take on a small army of undead by the gates to the graveyard. Find Marcus corpse, and take everything on it. Go south past the warehouse and veer East. Find Krestal in the barricaded home. From there, go into the middle of the city and talk to the halfling couple waiting for their friend. Go south until you reach the southeastern corner of the zone. Go into the Wheel Repair shop and find Hector, and return him to the halflings waiting for him. Return the journal to Bertran at the Tyrran temple. If you return the staff, you get 400 gold pieces and 3 points of Good. If you sell the staff to a merchant, you will get about 1200 gold. Ouch. Is virtue its own reward? Magi, of course, may want to keep it for themselves. Now its time to bring down the cause of the undead. There are two ways: going into the warehouse and investigatinge the STRANGE HOUSE. If you want to go in through the warehouse, head over to the Warehouse in the Northeast. Clear out the undead on the top floor, loot heartily, then head downstairs. This floor is straightfoward enough. Equip a missile weapon, and pick off the shambling zombies one by one with arrows, bolts, and low level spells. Loot as you go. When you get all the way around to the next door, rest and save. This next battle is definetely a DEFENSIVE BATTLE, if you can even manage it. The best way to handle it is to keep running away, then shooting spells and arrows at the Sword Coast Boy as he shambles after you. You may even want to save to a separate file before the battle, then quicksave during the battle. Loot away. Rest and Save, its not getting easier. Drawl is a doozie. Barksin, Cats Grace, fight defensively. If youre a caster, make sure you throw your hottest stuff while your henchman is still alive to distract the lightweight lich. After your hench dies, (and he or she will) you may want to go retrieve him, if your armor class isnt high enough to match Drawls cruel mace. After Drawl goes down, Walter awaits you. Talk to him for some more information on whats causing the plague, then go downstairs. Take the first left and fight your way to the switch (there are two traps in the left hallway) to open the door. Follow the corridors into a big room, then follow the hallway east. Theres a trap at the end of the hall near the corner. Save the game and rest, and recruit Daelan if you dont have him. The Bloated Dire Spider hits for eighteen regularly, and you should be on the defensive. When it dies, you can explore the rest of the floor, or you can just go up the stairs behind it into the Graveyard. The Graveyard is a battle royal. Twenty something zombies later, head to the other tomb- the one that can be opened (the other one is part of a Temple of Tyr quest, see 1.5.0) Youll be greeted by Gulnan, speaking through her pet zombie. Let her rave, then go through the antechamber and make a right. Blast down the undead waiting for you, then enter the chamber at the end of the hall. Go into the room on the left where youll find the remains of Jemaines poor brother (take the ring). Go back out into the hall and head right/north. The chamber ahead, of course, has a platoon of zombies taking an unhealthy interest in you. Get through and fight your way up the hall, entering yet another chamber of the living dead. Do the deed and turn left. If youre having trouble with your life, note that Linu should be able to keep up your HP if you order her manually, and Daelan kills things fast enough that they dont hit you. When you see the door on your left, its time to make a decision. Left takes you into the central chamber and the end of the place. Forward takes you on a path that eventually forms a square around the central chamber, imparting mucho experience and loot. After you decide to go forward, (everyone else look for TOMBS below) go to the end of the hall and go left/south. Go into the first room on your right. The chests in here are very good, and are also very heavily trapped. Most of them WILL kill you, and are hard enough that only full rogues have a ch

Gilded Reverie Lenormand raises the traditional thirty-six images to new heights of artistic mastery, wrought by the skillful hands of Ciro Marchetti. Ciros luxurious aesthetic makes every card a visual delight of gemstone colors and elaborate details, and yet Gilded Reverie remains true to Lenormands historic roots. Divination with Lenormand cards was vastly more popular in Europe than in the English-speaking world, until very recently. Lenormand decks are named after Mademoiselle Marie Anne Lenormand, legendary oracle to Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte. Now Ciro Marchetti has brought the classic Lenormand images into the 21st century. Ciro Marchetti has won awards for all of his divinatory art. Gilded Reverie Lenormand is an instant classic that will continue to please readers for years to come. Intuitive, elegant interface is easy for beginners and experts. Gorgeous full screen, high-resolution card images. Full support for all Android devices running 4. 0. 3 or newer. Sophisticated journal. 12 spreads built in. Design your own layout with Free Form. Allow reversed cards or not. Option to use Major Arcana only. Zoom in to enlarge card details. Share reading via email. Animated shuffle & cut. Optional voice prompts.
